Feathersone wouldn’t have stayed up if they had got there this year either.

You're probably right, even if they'd won the competition showing what a joke the system is.

There's a 100 page thread that could easily be boiled down to - minimum standards with promotion decided on the field. I can just about get onboard with Cat A clubs not being relegated, the rest I can't be convinced on.

No it shows that the system is designed to get the best run clubs in the top tier, as Featherstone have shown they aren’t a well run club on or off the field.

How long is it since any of those were promoted into the top tier?

Well of course Batley would have been promoted but the door was slammed shut because of SL and Fev and Fax have both won the Championship but were faced with a closed shop and no promotion. i.e. they were all artificially held back so Wakey could finish bottom in SL every year to 'let them develop and build'

Best run or clubs that already and historically benefit from SL money? Plus that famously well run club Bradford.

It’s a shame that this grading instead of P&R won in the pitch nonsense meant Fev were so desperate to go up this year and have gambled on it with such a poor outcome. I suspect if they’d known they could go up next year too they wouldn’t have spent so much.

I wondered how long it would be before the Bulls were mentioned

Kudos for letting it drag onto page three

Confirmed by the club they have been unable to pay their players which they have stated was inevitable following the end of their season .

Not having the cash to  pay players is the start of a very slippery slope. Very worrying times down at PO Road

They aren't a professional side though so how much are we really talking about? Not that I'm dissing the club, any money owed is important to the employees

They aren’t good enough to get in SL whatever the system theyve just shown it.

Hull KR are a great example of how shambolic this whole thing is. They were down on their luck and well outside the cut when SL started. I remember them languishing in the 3rd tier at one point until they started to pick up and go on a bit of a roll. They were fortunate that their upturn coincided with a brief period of natural P&R occurring and got up to SL and stayed up.

They've steadily grown, even going through a relegation (all part of the growth cycle) and are now a 'grade A' club. if this system had been in place for the past 20 years Hull KR would still be in the championship.

IMG graded them highly and the club are historically poorly managed. It's a pretty obvious example to use in response to the 'best run clubs' point.

Who from Fev hurt you? I might be able to have a word with them if you want.

That's not a great metric, bearing in mind that clubs would gave won promotion has it not been for licensing. Halifax, Fev, Sheffield (twice in two years) are amongst clubs who would've gone up. Maybe they wouldn't have stopped up but your question implies that they weren't good enough on the field to win a second tier competition.
