It appears that he has listed a charge against land at Featherstone so has lent the club money.

Anyone heard if this is part of a takeover?

Chris Brereton was co-owner of Wakefield and had links with the Bulls in 2019.

A few weeks ago, the club did say they were getting some outside money in at the time of the late salary payments so perhaps it's something to do with that.

Can anyone explain this in layman's terms?

If it was personal finance, the equivalent is broadly the same as the charge a bank has over your house, IE a mortgage.

Therefore is this guy lending us a sum of money against the value of the clubs assetts?.

I can't say for sure, but unusual to agree to a charge against an asset without some benefit in return, usually financial.

If lending Fev money  some type of security would be wise.

It's secured against...

Land and buildings on the north side of post office road and land to the north east of post office road, Featherstone

I'd imagine it's a similar arrangement as with the loan from Colm Corran several years ago ie repaid with interest

Given this blokes previous interest in RL, being a joint owner of Wakefield, and showing an interest in taking over Bradford, I wonder if he’s taking on any kind of role, or it’s just a loan?.

The last bloke to lend the club money became, and is still listed as an active, director

I'd agree. The purpose of this loan is probably less clear however, as iirc the one you reference was intended to support progressing ground development, specifically the use of the land to become revenue generating.

The one I referenced was to pay wages back in 2016. CC was charged with getting change of land designation into the local plan in 2018

He's seems a nasty piece of work to me, left Wakey under very acrimonious circumstances. He's one of those people involved in RL for reasons it's hard to fathom, as he doesn't appear to enjoy it, or do any good at any of the clubs he infiltrates.

Be better as a shareholder, but looks like he will be as creditor. The main thing is what are the terms of his contract.

You seem to know him well.

You've informed us of his character and personality, his plans and intentions, and the state of his bank accounts.

How much does he weigh though?
