Sounds like they’ve got more planned than the senior squad

Do they? That hasn't been announced. The elite  u19s teams will be missing players for almost all of October at this rate as the french season starts mid September.

The under 19s will play three fixtures in 2024, hosting Ireland on Sunday 25 August, before a return fixture on Saturday 5th October. The year will conclude with a trip to take on France on the weekend of October 26th/27th.

Enzo Griffier didn’t play in NSW Cup this week, either injured or he has been called up for France.

He has indeed been called up for the Senior team so it will be interesting to see how he gets on.

Well deserved for Harvey Smith. Quality young number 9 who is quick, elusive and a real dynamite player.

He played for England Academy last year and a few others reps I think.

Excited to see him come through and he’s shown up very well when called on this year in matches.

Might watch if he’s playing.

Hopefully he'll get a game, it's a long way just to watch!

Very exciting, still very young and raw and going to be a tough test coming up against some world class players. It’s a brave call but I can see why he made the squad as France don’t have much depth in the outside backs.

Him and Aispuro-Bichet are the future of France. Both could become special players.

Going to be a terrific game though, this France side is quite literally full strength and the best side they have had in a long time. Now’s there chance to take down the English.

Yeah you would think he plays, they wouldn’t fly him all the way to out to sit on the sidelines. I’d prefer him to Miloudi aswell probably, I think Miloudi could get dominated in the air by Johnstone. Need someone tall and athletic on the wing.

Also hope Rougé gets the start at fullback, I’m not sure Mourgue’s quite big enough to catch a lot of Ariel bombs.

The 20 french players have been announced, probably Clem martins last game of league as he's signed for Montpellier union which is sad for Lézignan,

That is a shame.  Very good prospect.

Yes, had a couple of good offers in league but decided to go to Montpellier, there's hundreds of players like him in union but not many in french RL,

Mourgues issue isn’t catching bombs. It’s his inability to pass or create space on the edges. All he has in his locker is a step through the line and the odd flash of brilliance. He needs to improve and stop stifling Catalans attack.

That’s watching Catalans a fair few times this season. He’s poor with his all round hand but gets by with the odd flash of individual play.

Nailed Mourgue in one. It looked like he had it two years back but this part of his game just hasn’t developed as much as many of us would’ve hoped.

@Click

what’s so funny mate?

That you acknowledge Miloudi would be dominated in the air, etc. but think he should be called up on the other thread.

I think he’s deserving a call cup, which he got. Doesn’t mean I think he should be starting on the wing.

We clearly have very different definitions of what deserving of a call up means for a man of Miloudi's years.

Harvey Smith has withdrawn from the England squad and has now been named in Wakefield's squad to face Barrow this weekend.

This world was never meant for one as beautiful as me.
