There's also a much larger crowd, more expensive seats and I expect sponsorship is ten fold what a champ RL side attract.

You’ve missed the point.   As you say yourself it’s a bigger event, bigger crowd and longer duration  but we are charging more.  BTW £19 will get you any seat at Headingley.  There are no more expensive seats.

Agree and I’d  pay the £20 but many thousands in Dewsbury won’t.   I’d say check our gates, but they’re not released anymore for some reason.

I thought the point was the price was similar but the metrics for RL are much lower/less. Are you suggesting clubs charge a fiver in cause it's a shorter game and less people attend?

Ours have sharply risen as well but you don't mind an extra couple of quid if it allows a few decent signings and we've brought in paulie, briscoe, lyne, Hall and fairimo who will be good earners. Before these signings i thought it would be very close with the both of us at the end of the season. I see dewsbury as a proper rugby community and it probably deserves better than it's currently showing.

A couple of quid a head won't be paying for those players.

I’m saying you charge what you think people will pay.   We’ve discussed it on here many times and I think the majority believe that on balance £20 is the best option.    I was merely agreeing with the Donny fan who felt it was a tad high.    Maybe a discount if you book in advance would be an option?

I agree but what’s that famous saying?   It’s the hope that kills you.
Until  the effort against Bradford I didn’t think we’d win again but if we play like we did last week we have a shout.

So 20 quid (1 pound more than than 19 at on offer at Headingley for the T20) would cure all Rugby Leagues problems?

Dare I feel optimistic for this one after the much improved performance against Bradford (which team today in Toulouse had a much changed side and drew)?

Go on then:

Dewsbury 20-18 Doncaster

FTS: Sykes

MoM: O’Connor

Att: 765

It could all depend on how the referee controls the game (better than his last appearance in charge of us I hope).

Billington won’t be playing as he made his debut for Huffersandpuffersfield notsoGiant Giants against Warrington.

I don't think Billington made the cut for the Giants, so we might see him against Donny.

He came on as 18th man for a player, who had a head injury and therefore should not be able to play today.

Ever the optimist ( 😎 ) I feel that we have a chance today, although the bookies disagree (3-1 against). Provided we get the rub of the green, the bounce of the ball, play as a team and have bags of energy we could just pinch it. On the other hand Doncaster could run rings around us as they did at their place.

Lets' plump for lucky, just this once:

Rams 22 - 18 Dons

FTS: Restall

MoM: Butterworth

Att: 777

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

You've not resorted to packing out bench with chair leaders just yet I hope?

Kudos to the players for a great performance. It's a shame Sykes got injured as it was only after he went off that Pauli made his breaks that turned the game. Good to see Ferguson back but my MOM was Jack Bibby who really took on the Doncaster pack.

It will be interesting to see if there is any action on the Jackson incident. It looked like a penalty/yellow card from where I was sitting.

We were just inches short of winning.

Completely agree with Bibby. He was immense today. We’ve eventually got a prop who likes to run with the ball in hand and also take on the oncoming attack head on. He needs more minutes.

The others like to pass and swerve too much.

Agree.  Felt for the lads today. No lack of effort and could easily have won with a bit of luck.   Had Syksey stated on I think we would have done it.
Shame about the failed interception on their last tackle. Gave them 6 more tackles from which they scored.    Onwards and upwards hopefully 🤞

Dews.should have won that game in the first half ,with the chances they had. But like the election result Dews and Batley going independent, a total scandal .Nothing anything to do with Dewsbury is going right.Well done to fergy.

Donny fan here, but just wanted to applaud the excellent shift out in by Ferguson today. Rarely does a home man of the match announcement get a round of applause from the away fans, but it was fully deserved

Totally agree. He was superb. Really made us work.

Another great effort today, but if Sykes’ injury changed our play, then we are still too reliant on him being there. It was another second half of struggling to get out of our half and not scoring a try, although we nearly did and would likely have won if O’Connor’s goal kicking skills were anything to go by. It was liking having another “just boot it” Danny Brough on the field. Who knew O’Connor could kick like that?

When Donny equalised, am I the only one who thought his conversion attempt went wide of the posts?

No everyone (except Donny fans ) in the south stand  were sure his kick was wide.

Plenty of us thought it was wide too
