Thaler getting another Championship run out I see - always decent in my mind. Mr Sweet on the line for this one - he refereed us against Barrow.

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

Let's think... poached our coach from last season, an important player,  then rumour has it two or three of this seasons squad on there way to the shay......so i may decline on this occasion !!

Ps:  live within your means

How are they signing players up when the HMRC have demanded payment by next week. Swinton got £100,000 loan from the local council. Whitehaven spending money they don't have...

It's what's called being financially illiterate.

The clubs should be looking for a good chartered accountant, instead of marquee player, who's looking to fill his boots.

Maybe, just maybe, Mark Sawyers approach to the season wasn't too far out? Yes, I would have like better players and to win games, but at what cost?

Do you think other clubs in the RL world would dig deep to help us survive if we found ourselves in the Halifax/Whitehaven position?

Which other clubs are in similar situations?

Rumours circulating from "reliable" sources ('cough' Gledhill 'cough') that Cornwall may not be around next season; Toulouse may withdraw if they fail to make SL; London may withdraw if relegated.

It could be a winter of turmoil!

No sympathy at all for Halifax

Simply spending money before it's in their bank account

I just hope all our players who have signed for them enjoy their new club.. Always paid at the Rams, fed, looked after, supported by the club

Enjoy the purgatory at the shay and the weekly wonder

Will we be getting paid this month 🤔

No club in debt should be allowed by the RFL rules to sign players

Only what's in your account can be spent.

Safe guards have now to be put in place with points deductions handed out to offenders and abusers.

So another club in financial crisis,Halifax the latest following on from Whitehaven last month. I wish both clubs well, but if it was little Dewsbury Rams who’d help us? Who remembers Maurice Lindsey, the then the head of RFL,a few years ago saying Dewsbury were the worst run rugby league club in the game? This season at times we’ve been ridiculed on numerous rugby league forums from fans of other clubs, karma is a ##### as they say. I was talking to Mark beginning of season and he said then that some clubs are going to go out of business if they keep spending money what they haven’t got. I know Mark as his critics and at times I can see where they are coming from, but as someone said to me yesterday,I won’t mention his name,if Mark didn’t put money in who else would? I know some fans aren’t happy that the chairman asn’t come out and said what our plans are going forward, but I can see why as there is so much uncertainty in the game at the moment.
Next season is all about rebuilding and stabilising on the field, having spoken to PM other day he’s got plans to build a team to not just get us back up but to keep us there and stop being a yo yo team. Let’s stick together and get behind Paul and the players that put on the shirt, they will be here because they want to be.
These are all my options and how I feel. Please no personal or insulting comments towards individuals. #UTR

MS bought the club out of administration and I don't know the details but he has put probably many hundreds of thousands into the club with no prospect of ever getting it back.

That he decided not to put more money in whilst the IMG farce was undecided is his decision.

It would be good to have a Fans Forum or some communication as to the plans, but we have a stable club.

Super League (IMG) have ring-fenced certain clubs exempting them from being relegated. But where is that rule implemented in the championship. Why aren't clubs with proud traditions in the championship safeguarded from relegation to what amounts to no more of an amateurish set up which is division one.We can't afford to risk the likes of Dewsbury Halifax Whitehaven etc. going to the wall. It wasn't long ago since the club I support looked to be in dire straits chasing the dream.Yes some clubs are mismanaged at times but the real need is to go back to what was The Northern Ford Premiership for clubs below the  so called elite.

GF. I would just like to put forward a point of clarification in relation to some players. Some of them were here when the club went down to League 1 predominantly under coach Greenwood. Offers came in but some players felt duty bound to stay loyal to the club and get them back up into the Championship at the first attempt under coach Finn. He moved on. The mess that proceeded this season has been commented on before so I won’t bother. Some of the players re signed not particularly thinking that they were going to achieve Super League status. BUT thinking that they at least were going to be supported in having half a chance of competing. The derisory league position and points return says it all! For some players their last win was Workington at home to secure League 1. It is soul destroying. Let’s all shut up about IMG for just one second. Have the club been massively ambitious in let’s say the last twenty years? I don’t hate the club or any individual but come on please wake up and smell the coffee.

34 league games per season plus cups. Have a little sympathy for the players.

It would be good to have a forum. However I believe that all that MS can say at the moment is "I don't know". The future of the lower leagues is completely up in the air as far as I can tell so anyone who makes promises about next season is living in fantasy land.

I mostly agree but have to say that IMG are becoming the whipping boy for all of the game's ills. They were appointed by the RFL on a specific remit which doesn't involve the running of the game and is focussed upon commercial viability. This means that their focus is clearly upon SL with the rest of us trailing behind.

The real culprits are twofold: the RFL for evading their real responsibilities to the whole game; and the individual club leaderships for allowing themselves to get into such a state.

Some of us have been smelling it for a lot longer than 20 years SS. It smells of reality.

Nobody should be blaming the players.
