New Kit VideoToday In

The decision to revive the shirt from the early 1990s for the final match of the 2024 season against Workington caused the ORL Heritage Trust to look back at the “Oldham kits through the years” and we have put together this montage of images which highlights the club colours from 1876 right up to the 2024 season.

Hopefully you will enjoy this!

Marvellous…..there are some truly hideous kits among them. But then most things look hideous when compared to the classic regular red and white hoops with navy shorts.

Really good video this, credit where its due to those who put it all together. Brought back lots of memories of replica shirts I've worn over the years (most I'm sad to say will no longer fit due to the expanding waistline 😀), some kits look better than others although I have to say I think the home kit used this season was one of my favourites, looked proper good on a winning team!!!!

Got to admit though Oldham have played in some proper rank away kits in my time watching them, I don't think we've ever had an away kit that I've thought "oh I might buy one of those", even this season's did not float my boat but that's just probably me 😁

Worst away kit I can remember (though there may well be worse ones that I've blocked out for psychological reasons) is from the early 90s, Martin Crompton era, white with narrow green and yellow stripes. Looked like a reject wrapper from the Spangles design team.

The best away kit, to my mind, is the blue and white Boddingtons kit sported at the 91 old Trafford premiership final. The one with Fordy lifting the trophy.

I think it is the standard blue and white hoops.

Heresy,  I know, but remember preferring the blue and white hoops and blue shorts to the red and white hoops. The white shorts in the Seventies were a particular aberration.

The best away kit. I agree 100% with you.

And WHAT A GREAT (2nd half) GAME THAT WAS.
