creditwhereitsdews Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Great draw in the Challenge Cup, if Dewsbury Moor beat Haresfinch in round one. Certainly a big incentive for them to win. Should be a big crowd against us - you'd think they'd switch the tie to our place - and a good chance for them to cause an upset, especially given that it will be our first proper match and many of our new players are from the local amateur game. 1
Wakefield Ram Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Will be great for both clubs and the town. Should get a bit of publicity as well. Come on Moor! 1
phildog Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 With the Danny Maun connection they might choose to play at The Mount, neutral, gets Rams off their own pitch.

There is no reason to play the game at Batley.. To prop up the coffers of their trip to Newcastle I don't see for one minute Batley giving the ground for free Bars scoffing up all their sales Food scoffing up all their sales Batley scoffing up all the car park money Batley scoffing up for stewarding Batley scoffing up for all operating expenditure Batley scoffing up all the hospitality boxes I'd rather see it at Dewsbury Moor The glamour of the cup And if they do Dewsbury will be paying all their home games next season there Edited December 6, 2024 by coolie 1
SUPERSTUD Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Have Haresfinch pulled out of the tie with Dewsbury Moor? Just saying! 1

9' oller Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 Didn't siddal get a home tie a while back? Moor can't due to homes being too close for kicks and ingoal area too short with barriers installed 'Shaw cross juniors, Birkenshaw, Mirfield, Heckmondwike Panthers, Stainland Stags and then the Heavy woolen donkeys... Nope Hundreds... Nope Tens.... Nope OK Coming in their Taxi 1

Nope OK Coming in their Taxi Well, you can take a cynical approach or regard it as having pragmatic wisdom whilst cementing their bonds with the top amateur side in the area. I prefer the latter view. 1 Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.
Blind side johnny Posted January 14 Posted January 14 Well, if we do manage to beat whoever gets through from that round it looks like we will be facing Batley away in the round after, assuming that they can beat Newcastle. If Moor do win their first game then they intend to play us at Mount Pleasant. If we were to beat them then we could be playing two away ties in the CC at the same ground. Has this happened to any club before? Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

Blind side johnny Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Moor had a hard fought victory on Saturday. I reckon it could be a challenging game for us - looking forward to it. Let's hope for a decent crowd to fill their coffers. 1 Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.
NickD Posted January 19 Posted January 19 I reckon it could be very tight and will be sweating if Moor build up even a small lead down that Batley slope in the first half...

9' oller Posted January 20 Posted January 20 Better terms agreed. Why would it be at rams when moor have home advantage.
