UK Anti-Doping investigating allegations that a senior rugby league official supplied recreational drugs to players.

Edited by Bedford Roughyed

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

  • Bedford Roughyed changed the title to UK Anti-Doping investigation into a senior rugby league official

Maybe someone from TotalRL can explain the mystery of the missing story!

All the secondary ones were just quoting directly  and indirectly from the Telegraph. Once the Telegraph pull it, they are essentially putting out a potentially very litigious story that they themselves have not sourced.

That is all the RL media seem to do now. For any story that someone does it is just repeated, sometimes practically word for word, over the course of the next couple of days.

Anyone remember the pictures supposedly of a table in a rugby club after a celebration apparently covered in a white dust residue? Couple of seasons ago?

Was laughed off at the time.

Does official mean someone in the RFL or match official? Not giving the Telegraph any money when they ignore RL 99.99% of the time.

What a surprise that union loving Telegraph trying to put the boot into Rugby League

Before everyone starts boring on that this is some hypocrisy from the Telegraph. At least a dozen stories from the last few years about drug use in rugby union published by them.

I probably should have just posted the screenshot but that was the only place where the story stayed up a lot longer than the others.

Better safe than sorry. Clearly sensitive and possibly actionable.

Really wasn't much in the article that could get anyone in trouble so you wonder if it is UKAD worried about it affecting their case.
