Hmmmm interesting choice. Didn't think we were short of backrowers.

Perhaps we haven't seen the last of departures from our squad.

Who's said anybody's leaving?

The Hull Ram suggested we were ok for back rowers so the Trout signing was a surprise. I offered that perhaps his signing was to replace a player leaving the squad. There....you don't need to read the previous 4 replies now!

Do you think we will retain all our current squad Graham?

Yes I do,well I hope so,I know there's clubs still sniffing round our players but as they are under contract a transfer fee will be required so hopefully that will put them off. We will certainly have competition for places next year.

I hope we can keep them all happy, I would expect GM to make those not making the match day squad available to the reserves which should add further interest.

I think Trout will be a genuine contender for a first team spot.

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.

I think Trout will be a genuine contender for a first team spot.

 

We have a few more bits of news to push out this week, but I'll try to speak to Paul Mennell next week to get an idea of how things are progressing in terms of the 2016 squad.

Think he turned out for Batley against us a couple of seasons ago............Wasn't particularly stand-out by any means, but hopefully he's developed since then and can add a bit of fire to the pack........ Think that's 33 now in the squad, if I'm counting right.

Do we need many more ??

I'd say no. I think it probably is the lot now, semi-happy with Kain. Simply because he's a half back brings some satisfaction

yep we got him at Batley on a months loan in 2014 , did ok , but got re called after month to go to Fev on Dual reg

He did however, chase down and catch Wayne Morton over 50 metres, who just about got over the line, so he can run.

haha ... you can never have enough hookers!!!   especially back in the days when they actually hooked!!   ( remember Peter Mullins .... now he was a hooker ...  but that would be a whole new thread)

 

So yes I think we probably have enough hookers.

 

 

Just call them dummy halves ONO, that's all they are nowadays.

I see that Salford have released Luke Menzies.
