Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted.

Shocked by the lack of response over Wolf Hall. Saw Conclave at the Flix which was Ace, then went to bed after the chop on iplayer. Grim. Both excellent I think.

see mel sykes has joined in with kicking  this wallace guy while hes down - not defending him but is this the same mel sykes that made ££££££££££££££££££££££££s of money in the 90s posing for "lads magazines" such as fhm in raunchy underwear - teasing the lads to explosion with her sexy shoots? the same mel sykes who has a book out that name checks him - that she would like to shift some copies of before xmas? only asking

The same Mel Sykes who was arrested for domestic violence against her husband some time ago? But yeah, you go sister.

Been 20 years since the BBC made a comedy worth watching. Looks like the wait will go on.

What's the specific comedy made in 2004 that you're thinking of?

Bluestone 42, The Cleaner, Motherland, The Young Offenders, to name just a few straight off the top of my head that I particularly like.

Also Philomena Cunk is funny. So, there’s that.

Cheers, I'll have a gander. I only know of The Cleaner but for some reason thought it was a drama.

Bluestone 42 is about a British bomb disposal unit in Afghanistan.

The Cleaner is about a crime scene cleaner. The episodes are usually the main character played by Greg Davies, and one other person and essentially their interactions for half an hour. The Cleaner is brilliant, the best of the 4 I mentioned.

Motherland is about a group of mothers and their children and what they get up to.

The Young Offenders is about 2, for want of a better description, Irish chavs living in Cork. It was originally an Irish-produced sitcom but after 3 series it was gonna be cancelled, before the BBC acquired it and carried on making it.

All brilliant shows, mate, and all on iplayer right now! Enjoy! 👍

I'm willing to bet you post things online like "Be kind as you never know what someone's going through". Except if you don't like them of course, then they can go top themselves.

Seriously, why the need for that?

That’s fair, I do. I should do better.

In mitigation, your needlessly mean spirited comment put me in a bad mood. It’s possible to say you don’t like something without also going that far.

But I should have bit my tongue and not responded like that.

But how was it mean spirited? I thought the character was initially ok/good whilst now finding the character a bit milked. That's it.

Another one I can't believe I forgot. Detectorists, which is one of my all time favourite sitcoms, possibly even my favourite. A comedy about metal detectorists, written by Mackenzie Crook of Pirates of the Caribbean fame. Brilliantly well written, incredible scripts. It stars Crook and Toby Jones who is also fantastic! Out of the 5 sitcoms I've mentioned, if you were to only watch one, make it this one!

Don’t know if you have it on Amazon Prime over there but if it’s available ‘The Sticky’ is a worthwhile binge watch.  Based on the utterly improbable large scale pilfering of the global maple syrup reserve to the tune of $18M ten years ago.

on the new episode of Bullseye the contestants had no where near the humility of the ones in years gone by which seems to be a trend with modern quiz show contestants who seem to feel they need to grab their little bit of fame with both hands - plus why is there a round of applause before they take their throws? very off putting

I know Bono and he knows Ono and she knows Enos phone goes thus

there was one but it wasnt a prize - the whole thing was a bit of a mish mash strung out over an hour with the main aim seeming to be to inflate flintoffs ego - jim and tony will be spinning in their graves

Just minutes to go until the return of Feathers McGraw. I've got my Wallace and Gromit PJs on and my phone is on silent. I've been waiting a long time for this, I've never been so excited for a film premiere!
