Futtocks Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 In Scotland, watching Still Game: The Story so far and realising they are showing it twice in a row without a gap. Most odd. A sitcom worth celebrating, nevertheless, although it's not well known South of the Border. 2 Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted. Futtocks Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 Just re-watched the episode of Outnumbered that ends with Karen conducting a funeral for a mouse. Let me never fall into the vulgar mistake of dreaming that I am persecuted whenever I am contradicted. Ralph Waldo Emerson

ivans82 Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Most of the best Comedies are the ones which arrive without a fanfare or loads of hype , thinking principally of Still Game , Detectorists and Early Doors . 2

Detectorists is certainly one of my all time favourites, so so well written.

Jeff Stein Posted January 2 Posted January 2 The second series of Dark Winds on Alibi has been very good. It's based on the Navajo police novels of Tiny Hillerman, which were huge in the past, but now appear to be mainly out of print. Big name producers too in the shape of Robert Redford and George RR Martin.
Futtocks Posted January 6 Posted January 6 (edited) The Indian Hill Railway 3-parter is being repeated on BBC4, with the first episode on right now. Not a Portillo programme, but a low-key and absorbing documentary. RayCee Posted January 15 Posted January 15 I don't know if this has been covered but I recently noticed on TV3 On Demand in NZ two and a half series of The Traitors UK are available. I've binge watched the first two series and the third is currently half way through but it's a case of doing it weekly as I've caught up. I never do 'reality' TV but this is the first one and have enjoyed it immensely watching it with the better half. The tasks and the plotting are unpredictable. Don't worry, I won't be tempted to try 'Real Housewives of...' or 'Love...' as they seem anything but reality but this is very different. My blog: https://rugbyl.blogspot.co.nz/ It takes wisdom to know when a discussion has run its course. It takes reasonableness to end that discussion.

When all the scheming and amateur sleuthing goes wrong by the ‘faithful’ in their attempts to weed out the traitors amongst them, it makes for great TV drama. I was sceptical at first that I’d like it but am enjoying the latest series as I did series 2.

That was hard to watch I must admit. He was playing the game to a ruthless degree and will probably have to reflect on it later in life. 1

Josef K Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Has anyone watched “Simon Schama’s Story Of Us - BBC2” “Lucy Worsley Investigates - BBC2”. I loved “Simon Schama’s - History Of Britain” i loved it that much i bought the CD that had the music on it. Id guess Lucy Worsley won’t disappoint because almost everything she has done has been enjoyable.

Sidi Fidi Gold Posted January 23 Posted January 23 The 28 day catch up figures saw both Wallace and Gromit and Gavin and Stacey surpass 20 million viewers. Wallace and Gromit 21.6 million Gavin and Stacey 20.9 million Apparently nobody watches the BBC anymore. 1
