Seems to run in the family....

ASC did ok against the unfancied sides but really need to be beating title contenders, don't they ? Next up Albi which will be a close affair.

I was wrong,  it was too easy for Albi.

Same question, what's happening at ASC ?

Albi played most of the match down to twelve after early red card. Already two scores up went on to dominate the ASC. Their overseas contingent offer a huge physical presence as seen here but there French youngsters too - impressive. A flying winger scored a couple of break aways and hooker Ousty also a superb solo effort from way out late on. Impressed on how they ve improved on from last term. Anselme targeted this game after losing at home to Champions Limoux the other week. He wanted to bring to ground one of the Aude teams as a statement of intent. The Canaris doing it tough with just French players even if they won the Cup last year. Still with St Gaudens surprisingly turning over Avignon after their only win last weekend - the comp is showing uncertainties everywhere which its lacked in ages.

Sounds like one heck of a turn around at Albi in a week. Anselme was spitting blood after about an hour as he watched his side lose discipline and gift the game to Limoux.

Quite agree, the Elite is producing some good games this season, even Toulouse look half decent and are not the pushover from last season.

I watched two games yesterday.  French refs seem to be getting a bit card-happy, unfortunately.  A tackle that was barely above horizontal and absolutely no harm done resulting in a red card is a bit much.   I think the over-eager touchies running in with their flag raised doesn't exactly help matters either.  I think there were about 5 cards between the two matches yesterday.

No money, the club is in bankruptcy. Some players dont want to play before to have theirs defrayals

What happened to Roanne XIII? I can't see them in any of the league structures?

Still clinging to life, but no senior team this season AFAIK - I guess lack of any local opposition being a factor.

Aren’t Roanne in the French National Division 2 ???

They were, but (AFAIK) not now. I think just kids & a wheelchair team. Happy to be proved wrong - this is a club with 80+ years of history, a long way from other RL clubs in France.

I think the Rhone-Alpes region  http://liguera13.com/  does not have enough clubs to run a league this season.

Toulon marching on still.

First team in DN1comp heading their 2nd phase group after successive home wins recently against Tonneins (36-18) and Realmont (32-4). Could be well placed to reach DN1final after winning DN2 last year.

Their U19s playing in the Elite division are 4th on the ladder after turning over Avignon yesterday 42-16. They ve wobbled a bit but SOA is a fine catch.

If the club can keep up this momentum you would think Elite 2 is not far away.

The Toulon club are aiming for Elite 2 next season with Elite 1 on the horizon, not bad for a club formed in 2011. The coach is now David Fraisse who many will recall played in England  with a few clubs. They have a great set-up down there.

Fouad Yaha and Ugo Perez unplayable but not enough to stop Gregorius from claiming the game. Ambert and Gregorius are easily SL standard.

Is it a case of Catalans and the French National side not picking ambert because he won’t go fulltime??

Got the score off the Federation web site! They ve now updated it.Toulon now in 5th place just behind the Catalans of Baho. Encouraging that 2nd/3rd tiered clubs holding their own in the Elite 1Juniors. Elite1 more competitive than 2017; the same for U19s?
