Only just found out about Tom Verlaine , another talented musician passes on ,anyone who hasn`t got the Marquee Moon album in their collection don`t know what they are missing .RIP TOM .

One of the greatest debut albums in rock history and still doesn't sound dated to this day. The follow-up Adventure was also a very good album. I've got a couple of his solo albums and there are some great songs on those too.

Very sad and shocking news. I got to know Ian, simply a very nice bloke, during his time reporting Fartown for the Huddersfield Examiner (for some of that time, I was also covering second tier rugby league) then, later, he was a colleague - albeit home-based - at the Press Association. My condolences to Ian's family, friends and former colleagues. I last saw him, outside Headingley, before the 2020 double-header involving Leeds, Castleford, Toronto and Hull. It was lovely to catch up. He was on good form, and looked very well. Ian retired only recently, after covering - for the PA - the Rugby League World Cup tournament.

Rumours are abounding that ITV legend Dickie Davies may have departed this vale of tears.
