jamescolin
I was told this by a fellow supporter on Tuesday. Let's hope it is true.
jamescolin
I knows he played for us and Huddersfield. Isn't he a half back or hooker? If so are we in need?

jamescolin
Would you drop Ase Boas then?
haskey
Cannot see us dropping Ase Boas. Also why did he leave for Huddersfield when they are full of halves. Strange one that, unless it was a matter of insurance with his injuries, Who knows ?

We don't have anyone in the team that can move the ball out quickly to the wings. (As per fatty Murrell's pass to Sharp on Sunday). We definitely need to make better use of Briscoe whilst we've got him

Maybe not drop, but definitely re-shuffle to accommodate Holmes in the half. Ase has impressed at times but I'm not sure he's a 6. Could be interesting as bench hooker but then Maskill would miss out. A good problem to have however!
Private Baldrick
Is this a social media/bloke down the pub rumour or something a bit more fact based?
Auntie Ruth
I’d take him back in a flash, not seen much of Boas, but seen plenty of Tom and for me, he was the best half back when he was with us. I hope he does come back to Fev, would be a big boost.....

Love Rugby League discussed Holmes moving to a Championship club on loan (didn't mention Fev), then both Aaron Bower and John Davidson (both RL journos) have mentioned a specific loan move to Fev on their Twitter feeds. Not sure what the time scale of any move might be as he was originally slated to be out until April.
gingdong
Ase boas did well on Sunday had a much better game than Murrell but i suppose if people keep saying hes not a stand off enough times people will believe it

Having Holmes in the middle would speed that up.
The Phantom Horseman
Huddersfield coach Simon Woolford has confirmed on West Yorkshire Sport that Holmes will be coming to Fev on loan. Says he's still 3 or 4 weeks away from playing. Sounds like a similar situation to Turner in that after the first month there will be a callback clause, but equally it sounds as if there is a possibility he will be with us for the rest of the year barring injuries or loss of form to Huddersfield's half backs. Regardless of whether he's a threat to Ase's place or not, we only have two half backs who really look 1st team calibre at the moment and we would be very lucky to get through the season with just 2, and we know Holmes is a quality player. Monkeymagic22
Great news. Gives us some much needed cover in the half backs. I’d guess that it’s going to be a couple of months before he’s match fit through.
Les Tonks Sidestep
Heard the rumour on Sunday and assumed he would be coming to allow one of the Boas to move to FB with Turner returning to Cas. Could still be that scenario with him still being a month or so away from playing.
Phil Loxton
Can't have too much cover at half back. That was our downfall when Wildie got himself suspended for the crucial game with London. Arguably we would have beat London with Wildie in the side and then look what happened to the Broncos. I think there will still be room for both Boas when Holmes gets fit. Les Tonks Sidestep
Similar here, which also mentions him joining Huddersfield team mate Dan Smith, although I've not seen anything mention an extension to his loan anywhere https://www.totalrl.com/holmes-returns-to-rovers/

Steve Slater
If Tom Holmes is roughly 3-4 weeks away he might be back for the Toulouse trip, which might not contain any D/R players, although Leeds play on the Thursday night, so you never know? If he's fully recovered by then it would be nice to have extra cover through the difficult month of April, especially Easter weekend with matches on Good Friday and Easter Monday, with Rhinos also playing on the same days. Loans and D/R players could play a significant part in qualification for the play-offs, but Rovers would need something in place to stop them all being unavailable if their parent clubs are in the SL play-offs!
