I think the makers of this 1970s cartoon are about to sue Jaguar’s head of creative design.   Did he actually get original on anything here? :

1) Can anyone in the target demographic afford it?

2) More importantly, can they park it?   Especially in the UK

Looks like a sort of sleeker, chunkier e-type with the long bonnet, the cockpit set right back and the sloped rear. Can't say I'm a fan of modern cars though, the e-type is one of my favourites and is a million times more attractive than this.

Everything is exaggerated, as is the norm with concept cars. Elements of this style will find their way into the production vehicle, but this is a pointer.

James May on Radio 4 pointed out that as the long bonnet is not covering a big V12 (new Jags will be all-electric) the shape is merely a stylistic call-back to earlier Jaguars, and could have been more adventurous/creative.

Shame.

At least NASA still have the 'Super' Guppy.   The US will no doubt find a way to keep that one on display when she retires.   I think Airbus may have one on display at Toulouse too.

Manchester buses introduce "hopper" option on fares: https://news.tfgm.com/press-releases/40ac68ac-b744-4574-8486-82155e759b8e/cheaper-and-simpler-bus-fares-set-to-launch-in-greater-manchester

We have these in London and they add an extra level of mobility to people who are counting the pennies everyday.

Bloody train cancelled again... thank you Northern... thankfully I don't have to be where I'm going at any particular time so can get the later service but it means I'll be missing my connection and will have to buy another ticket for that bit of the journey... thankfully I'm only going one stop down the line on that one so shouldn't cost too much.

Mat Armstrong is a former professional BMX rider. Following an injury that ended his career, he started fixing crashed cars.  In the last four years, he's built up a huge business buying crashed high end cars and putting them back on the road.  His motto is HWBT : Hard work beats talent.  His YouTube videos are well worth watching .

It is a concept car, so various styling elements will be exaggerated in a way that's impractical for a production vehicle. That said, it is less adventurous than I'd have liked.

Of course that didn't stop the Hate Papers instructing their readers to fill their Depends™ with incoherent rage when the original video was released, featuring people, some of whom were "gasp" non-white.

There's a broken down train currently stopped near the Ribblehead viaduct. It's been there since yesterday. The engine is named 'Ingleborough', which is of course right by where it's stopped, and one of the Yorkshire three peaks that most of the thousands of people walking by the sidings will be going up and down today.

I've never been on the Tyne and Wear metro and I have to say this doesn't particularly encourage me to!

I've not actually been on many mass transit networks in this country. If I'm remembering rightly, I've only been on the Manchester Tram and the London Underground, and the underground was when I was a kid. I've been to other places with mass transit systems, just not been on them.

I used the Metro a few times back in the Eighties and when it's working, it gets you around the city and surroundings really well. These new leaky trains were supposed to replace (I think) the ones I rode in back then.

Yep, the units being replaced are the original ones. They're old.

It's a good network but looking a bit tired and unloved the last time I used it. The station at Tynemouth is magnificent, though.

I hadn't seen Tynemouth. What a canopy!

Stunning, isn't it? They have a weekend market there and there's a pub and a very good Italian restaurant on the station. It's a bit different from North Shields that's for sure.
