Oooh I like it.

It does look lovely. Bit terrifying it's been in service so long that it can get its own retro colours though.

I know, as a kid I used to collect the 'Electra Update' leaflets they produced when these were being built and the ECML upgraded. Now already some of them have been scrapped and the rest largely replaced on that line 😞

That's mesmerising, I could watch that all day.

I wonder what it's like on board 🤔

Are we approaching a level of performance where human reactions are inadequate? The McMurtry combines modern electric-car power and torque with fan-assisted ground effect (which has been banned more than once from motorsport in the past).

Cartoon-fast!

Thought you all might enjoy this little gem. Shame they don’t have the actual soundtrack of the Pegasus radial pistons:

Have you ever read Corsairville by Graham Coster? Although based around a single remarkable story involving the Empire-class flying boat Corsair, it is also a historical overview and personal appreciation of flying boats in general.

I’ve not, but I will definitely be checking this out.

I've just shelled out about £120 for train tickets today, even after using a ticket-splitting service.

I'm interested in that drive, that rush to judgment, that is so prevalent in our society. We all know that pleasurable rush that comes from condemning, and in the short term it's quite a satisfying thing to do, isn't it?
