Countries you’d like to see playing RL

All of them for me. How to do this? We are not a rich sport, so make it as easy as possible for any nation to start playing and develop organically via improved IRL support services to get them up and running, then self sufficient asap. Realise they already do this work, but limited funding must restrict capacity and performance. Hopefully the RLWC will boost their resources.

I've had quite a lot to do with the IRL and my opinion is they're more of a hindrance than a help.

Every time you think they are getting their act together it's just another hoop to jump through.

Had high hopes for Lebanon after their creation in 2000 with all the decent amount of heritage players they could call on in the various different Aussie league grades including the NRL but things seem to have plateaued somewhat.

same could be said for nation’s like Greece and Italy who can both call on a decent player pool in the Aussie grade competitions.

The Balkan nations offer the best chance of success for me what with their close proximity, small-medium sized countries and already in-built rivalries .

Are you involved with the Latin heat mate?

Would love to see Germany get involved. they are pretty good at most of the sports they compete in and i am sure they would be good at it, Union is starting to grow there with talk of a team in the pro 14 league, would be cool if we could get in there b4 Union gets established,

Say what you want about rugby union and their on-field product but one can’t deny their commitment to expansion and increasing their footprint worldwide.

Not anymore, no.

I've helped kickstart 4 or 5 nations mainly in Central America.

I’d like to see the game spread from Jamaica so they adopt the West Indies grouping a la cricket.

Jason Robinson is very keen on this idea too apparently

Trinidad and Tobago is the next largest country. Could try and start something there.

Nigeria has potential and could be anything.

West Africans tend to have much more robust frames than East Africans, Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon etc would be great developments

You serious??

Is this just a fantasy thing? Or are you aware that Union is over 100 years old there? Or that they almost qualified for the last union World Cup? Their union game is a mess right now, but Rugby League has struggled badly to get off the ground there due to very limited interest. (And some opposition from the aforementioned union with regard to fields etc).

Bizarre post in any case.

Was going to start a different thread but we have in a away lost nations from the level they were at.

Didn't Russia have 25k for a game. They seem to have gone. South Africa, Morocco and Japan seem to be others.

The victory cup I believe which involved the nations of the allies during WW2. USA, England, Russia and France.

Early 90’s Morocco run by a guy who played for London crusaders. M’barki?

japan along with Moldova and South Africa gone very quiet.

I'd love to see it played everywhere.  A truly global sport. But I know that's unrealistic.

However, can you imagine the sort of team Germany might produce if they had properly taken to the sport?

Dutch would be better from my experience, I supported a lot of both Dutch and German units whilst serving and the Dutch had some massive units amongst their ranks.

Carlsberg don't do Soldiers, but if they did, they would probably be Brits.
