Really good signs for the future of this league and it seems to be growing in standard every year, there is a high likely hood that it could become fully professional of the back of the 2025 World Cup. Really positive signs for the future of French rugby league as a whole.

Please let me know if I have missed anyone.

I heard that Laguerre might be switching to the 1st team.

Having said that, he will probably go to Fev now, like the rest of the young French lads have done recently

Do you know which teams?

From memory (And this is in early stages) as they are talking to investors.

No particular order

CARCASSONNE

ALBI

TOULOUSE (Possible)

TOULON

AVIGNON

LYON

PARIS

VILLENEUVE/AGEN

Cannot remember if BORDEAUX was in there as well.

That's a decent list. My reservations though are the stadium in Albi is not good enough. It's a dump. Even watching their games on social media are painful to watch.

Carcassonne's ground needs work and I assume that the Leopards will play at Agen RU's ground?

Not sure why Carcassonne’s ground needs work?

New good sized stand on one side and a large stand on the other in a decent state of repair that was upgraded not that long ago.

Albi’s ground for the international games has fairly big covered stands up each touchline.

l’d say both grounds are better than at least two in SL

2 stadiums in Albi would be the one where the recent France v Wales match was played pretty much OK holds 10000 ish:)

Carcassonne ground needs work? It's up to pro D2 union standard and would pass for top 14!

No Lézignan or limoux? The two teams with the biggest regular attendances and largest rugby schools?

I'm thinking of the smaller stadium in Albi they've been playing at recently. Still I'm not a fan of RL played at stadiums with athletic tracks

That seems too good to be true... From that list, I could only see Carcassonne making the jump to professional rugby on short term.

Which came first, the locations or the potential investors?

And what is the estimated annual cost of running a full-time club in France?

Not sure what the strategy is behind attempting to go from part-time to full-time. I’d much rather see investment into the juniors and other formats of the sport than going professional based off of a one-off investment like the World Cup.

You're not going to get the same level of investment for junior development as for creating full-time clubs. And I suspect any agreements would be for more than one-offs.

Sorry you are asking questions the i dont have the answers to, all i know is what the plans  are and that the FFR feel that without a full time league and the development of the national team then the game will never reach its potential.

If elite 1 became professional Catalan would join, Also Lezigan and Limoux are arguably the 2 best clubs in elite 1 right now, they would definitely be in it.

Many lovely places (We used to live near to Perpignan) but moved to Spain around 14 years ago as we prefer the laid back lifestyle and the prices (At least 30/40% cheaper) i am 50/50 between here and a little village in Kent the nice thing is thats only 35 mins from my front door to the Dragons stadium:) 40 mins to Pia and around 90 mins to Carcassonne Lezignan and Limoux 2 hours 15 mins to Toulouse.

Last season i went to 14 matches at the Dragons 4 at Toulouse + 3 Elite 2 matches:) + France v England back in England another 15 SL + 3 Championship at the Broncos:) should make around 40 this season with the WC:)

Back to your question many lovely places however rural France can be challenging in the winter which is why we prefer Catalan/Spain.

Best clubs yes however not in places where they could really grow crowds i guess.

Whatever happens they have to keep the traditional clubs and juniors happy.
