Likely to be a bit one sided even before we knew how well Sheffield would start the season. Now if it were Swinton V Sheffield I would probably tune in and watch as home advantage might even it up a bit.

Yep agreed I also thought it was a strange one in one way but the Olympic legacy stadium will look good hopefully

Yeah - but everybody gets at least one home televised game so you'd need to pick another Sheffield game.  It was a reasonable choice at the time the fixtures were produced.

I could name at least 6 or 7 that would probably have made better viewing before the season started.

No Titus Gwaze for Sheffield - two metal plates in his jaw from an illegal elbow by a Newcastle player, who got 1 match.

He's out for 3 months I reckon, and has been one of Sheffield's best players this season.

Anyway, plenty of talent in this Eagles side so they should win by at least 16.

Barrow haven't

They will do though. Same for Bradford and Swinton I think  All clubs were guaranteed at least one home televised fixture. Only 12 games were confirmed at the start of the season, with the rest to be announced later, although I think Whitehaven v Barrow in August has already been announced.

Started off quite close with Sheffield making a lot of mistakes but not helped one little bit by the officials making that decision to give Sheffield the ball at the scrum. We got 15 minutes entertainment though. 😆

Seems I was a bit previous, so it's me and thee. And Wolfey.

Not sure how Sheffield got the ball back after going into touch

Not a clue here after watching the replay about 3 times, looks an awful decision. No chance he called offside and they chose to take a scrum? Is that even a rule or did I imagine that.

Probably watch to the next try, was a decent game to start with.

Or considering this is the first post since kick off with 20mins gone, am I the only one watching?

The Monday night threads have been miles quieter this year. I am sure this reflects the fact that there weren't the same offers for the Premier/ViaPlay coverage this year that we saw last year, and people's finances are even tighter now.
