Restall was good for us and we were disappointed when he took the Dewsbury shilling. However it is what it is. Players move and change allegiances. McNally has proved to be a good signing. Our sights are now on being strong enough to win the play offs. Although improbable, automatic promotion is still possible.

The way I see it without getting ahead of myself. We win tonight and it’s between us and Doncaster for automatic promotion, you win and it’s game on. As we know anything can happen in this league. I’ll be honest I had you to beat Doncaster last weekend so I’m not taking anything for granted.

According to the BBC website, Shaw Cross play Dewsbury Celtic at 7.30 pm, coinciding with the pro game. Don't think that will do the crowd at either venue many favours.

Seems odd.

We didn’t play well. Too many errors and no composure with the ball.

plenty of effort from nelmsy and paga. Hirst starting to look good also.

unfortunately the league doesn’t lie. 😢

Unsure how to feel after that one, we had the chances to win the game but didn’t take our opportunities and had a lot more chances than a very direct Dewsbury side.

in the first 20 minutes we should have been 3 try’s to 1 up with the new winger fumbling the ball with no one in front of him and the Wigan prop loanee who dropped the ball with the line begging and then the Wilkinson Ridyard and McNally link up for our first try  on the new wingers edge.

I’d  like to see Paga organise more opportunities on is edge but if we get the correct people around our play makers we will score plenty opportunities.

build the team around McNally ridyard Paga wilkinson and slater.

No Slater isn't injured . We have the 2 best hookers in the division IMO and Slater is young and Oldham born.

Agree, unsure why we changed it. seemed to effect the dynamic of the team with wilkinson playing a different role, the Wigan youngster obviously has plenty quality, I was speaking with a fan who knew slater and he wasn’t happy I believe. Don’t start the old dual reg debate on here.

Give me Restall over McNally any day. Look McNally is a very good player and played at a good level throughout his career and if he's your player he's the dog's doo dahs, but if he's not he's a pain in the butt. Let's just enjoy what on paper should be a cracking game. Safe journey over from the dark side 😉

The best two full backs in this division, but with the style of rugby we play give me McNally all day. Restall would be perfect for us on the wing and was a fantastic player for us last season.

Both players showed their no mugs, bit concerned at the clown who hit both Restall and Carr from up and unders, both times injuring each player, maybe in the rules of the game... But

On both occasions caused injury, if the game is trying to stamp out injuries... Maybe time to stop simply colliding with a player at the moment of the catch, and also the said player was offside on at least one occasion, so wasn't allowed with in the 10..letter of the law works both ways🤔

The Shaw Cross club has its own “Glastonbury “ and fairground today (Saturday), hence the game last night.

Odd though, I agree.

Time for littler to go!!! Get him sacked not good enough to win the big games I said last month the run in was to prove me wrong and he hasn’t done it. We beat hunslet at home that’s it. If we want to go up next season littler isn’t the man to take us forward and if anyone who thinks different I would like to know why he is the man. Surely the new owners want there own manager in and it’s best to get rid now instead of waiting.

Good old fashioned game of rugby league, some big hits, some borderline tackles but we won’t go into that. You certainly gave it to us last night, and not for the first time this season, how the hell did you lose at home to Doncaster? As I’ve said on a few occasions,Oldham are the best team we’ve played this year. As it’s looking certain that your automatic promotion as gone just like to wish you good luck for rest of season and who knows we might meet again in the playoffs,I honestly hope not like.

What a load of garbage!!!!!!!!!! I've not enjoyed watching the Yeds as much as I have done this season. They are playing exciting attacking rugby with a steeliness in defence. Young Yed needs to read comments on other forum pages of the sides who have just beaten us and they all say the same they were impressed by the Yeds and unlucky not to have taken the points. Read the above comment from Graham Fisher.

I know it's always ifs and buts but sadly dropped balls, players infringements bad refereeing calls aren't the coaches fault.

I just hope Littler is with us next season in the championship.

Completely agree with this, absolute garbage shout from young yed. Some of the rugby we have played this season as been great to watch.

from where we was last season this season as been a massive up lift with the signings of Meodows Ah Van Paga baker and bringing wilko back, just need to bring a few more signings in the back line and another forward of the calibre of Moran and  the lad from Batley we’ve had

That was a really good tussle last night and if your lads could have held onto the ball who knows what the result might have been like. I missed the game at your place, but understand thst was of a similar calibre.

I think the officials didn’t quite get some decisions right. I don’t know how many forward passes the ref missed and he caned us with the number of penalties you were awarded, but he gave us about half a dozen set restarts.

Many people think Oldham play a really good type of rugby and probably one of the best teams to come up against and our coach is one of those people, which  makes us all wonder how you managed to lose to Doncaster last week.

I think you might have now surmounted the highest hurdle in the league and will be back to winning ways, so best of luck for the rest of your games.

As you know Restall is a finisher and not a line breaker and McNally can do that. Restall might be better considered as a winger, but we needed a full back and are not short of wingers, hence why he is at n° 1 for Dewsbury.
