Anyone know if Serbia has any youth set ups, or do they all start playing as adults?

Of course. I was simply clarifying it in response to someone implying that Serbia are "not that much" stronger than the Czechs.

A few years ago they would play 9s tournaments at U16 and U18 level, usually involving 3-4 clubs. 

Now I think they only have U18, who do a mixture of play/train with the open age team, then play the occasional 9s tournament as U18s.

They had a beach rugby festival for under-16s and under-18s last weekend. Czechia (their opponents at the weekend) have quite a bit happening at youth level.

Serbia vs Montenegro this weekend too. I think Serbia visit Netherlands in October.

England community lionesses also playing two tests in Serbia in October. Serbia also playing Greece in a women's international in November.

The Serbia squad was not entirely second string, 5 of the team was in the team that played Greece back in May. I'd say that is a pretty good result for the Czech Republic considering Serbia have far more history and experience and still far closer than expected.

A second string England still demolishes France by a far greater score line than Serbia beat Czech Republic. A France team that will be missing its top players should still beat Serbia convincingly but if they are without their full time players it should be a good test for Serbia and is what they need to progress.

The management of the XIII de France has just announced an expanded list of players to prepare for the test match against Serbia. Essentially composed of young profiles, the tricolor staff wants to bet on the future and quality of Elite players for this trip to Belgrade.

Five years after their victory on Serbian soil in the preparatory match for the European Cup (victory 54-2), Les Bleus will return to the Slavic capital on Sunday, September 24. The group will be reduced to 19 before departure for Serbia. Maxime Grésèque will be at the head of the French team for this international meeting.

Maxime Grésèque, coach of the XIII de France: "We are leaving with a group of promising young players who will proudly wear the jersey of the French team in Serbia. We will prepare this meeting with a lot of seriousness and envy. This match counts for the international ranking and we will have to make a result there to earn points."

A lot sort of France where hopless at Leigh in April

Only Goudemand played in that match. If you add Garcia,Bousquet, Navarrete, Seguier, Dezaria and Springer you've something better. Next season two French forwards will be at Leeds in Gouemand & Sangare. This idea is becoming more and more taken up..

Interesting that Brochon and Laguerre are in the list, I would have thought TO would ask to keep them back just in case they are needed for the play offs. Lose a couple of halves and Brochon would have to step in.

No surprise but the TO players have been withdrawn. TO will need Robin Brochon over the next 2 games due to the loss of Jake for the rest of the season

I know your advocacy of Salon being in Elite 1, but as they aren't at present it's slightly surprising to see one of their players selected ahead of all of those who are playing in Elite 1.

Enzo played France 17s at scrum half  last year and France 19s this season at full back. 

He played for the France selection against the Catalans at the beginning of this season, 

He's very tall, strong and skillful, 

He could be a very good halfback but I reckon he'll be a better full back,
