He hasn't been first choice out on loan, akin to us having Luke Hooley and putting him on the bench. No point in recall if he's there just to make the 21st name on the squad list.

He's played regularly as the interchange hooker at Hunslet, effectively the same role that Leaky plays for us.

I would have expected him to have been first choice to be honest. Playing replacement in division 1 doesn't equate to the same in the Championship which is where he really needs to be next year if not a starter.

Depends what you mean by first choice. I would say Leak I'd still our number 1 hooker, but is nearly always a replacement. Perhaps Burton plays that role at Hunslet.

Isn't the point that if the squad is threadbare then he gives extra options even if at the end of the day he doesn't make the 17.  If he had not been brought back and someone had failed a last minute fitness test or broken down in training and Burton could have filled the role but had been left at Hunslet then no doubt there would have been some complaints on here.

Anyway, good luck to the lad, he certainly won't let us down if he does play.

So, Fax win by a point, we go to York in 7th, come away with nothing and we end our season the Saturday after. What an ask. Can the worn-out bodies raise their levels at least once more? Spirit boys, spirit!!

After that performance you understand why refs get abused they don't get the calls right . Always favour the bigger teams weather its our league or super league far too inconsistent and do they actually know the rules . We threw it away when are coached going to get into meadows head give and go every other set is too predictable can't keep doing it. Woods disappeared when it got tough did he ever take line once this game . Season over rebuild needed showed tonite we have a slow team only McGowan with real pace

At 14-14 and a minute to go and we're setting up for a drop goal and the ref calls an incorrect ptb. The only 'incorrect' thing about it was that he played it with his foot as per the rules. Guess refs aren't used to seeing correct ptbs. Lost us the game, that call

Is that what the call was? He didn't award a penalty so not sure it was, or did he just award the handover because it was incorrect on the last tackle?

No idea. I watched it and couldn't see anything wrong with the ptb. Ref just ordered a handover and the rest, as they say, is history. Very disappointing decision and one of a number he made that seemed to favour the home team.

Did the players kick up a fuss, or was it only the absentee fans?

Sport, amongst other things, is a dream-world offering escape from harsh reality and the disturbing prospect of change.
