So is it gong to be 14  league fixtures and then an expanded Cup?

Rubbish if so. Half feel like jacking it all off tbh

10 home and 10 away games for you includong four loop fixtures. Then 2 extra home games against haven and barrow in the 1895 cup

( I think 🤣 )

Just read the RFl statement , I've got a headache now 🫣😂.

Doesn't sound too bad to be fair. No easy solution

Our loop fixtures should probably not be against Cornwall and Midlands if they seed it from last years table with a bit of luck. Although I'm sure they'll find an algorithm somewhere to make it happen. I'm guessing the two relegated teams will take Dews and Donnys places above us in the seeding, with Cornwall & Midlands the lowest seeds and should play each other and maybe Rochdale & Crusaders ( unless because they got to the final they trump us in the seedings ) in which case we may get dragged in. 🤔

The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!

Still confused??

Extract from RFL meeting

In 2024 the 13 England-based Championship clubs will join eight League One clubs (Cornwall having graciously opted not to take part) in seven groups of three. Groups will be seeded and regionalised, with League One clubs awarded home advantage in any fixtures against Championship opposition. The top team in each group will qualify for Quarter Finals, joined by the best-performing second-placed team – the latter to be determined by competition points initially and then, if necessary, by points difference

does that not read like Town will play the league 1 clubs home and away (16 games) but the proposed loop fixtures (Whitehaven and Barrow in the 1885 cup ) gives us an additional 4 home fixtures, as stated above “ with League One clubs awarded home advantage in any fixtures against Championship opposition.”

making 12 at home and 8 away ???

As I read it, each League 1 club will have 10 home league matches and 10 away league matches (including loop fixtures from amongst the nine L1 clubs).

In addition, there will be a group stage in the 1895 Cup, giving an additional two matches - most L1 clubs getting both of those at home - following that the 1895 Cup will become a knock-out.

Challenge Cup matches are obviously added on to the above.

That's the 1895 cup you are quoting not the league loop fixtures.

https://www.townrlfc.com/article/786/league-structure-confirmed

We will play 10 home games in the league.

Plus play off structure and more potential home games.

2 home games in a regionalised group stage in 1895 cup.

At least 1 home 'friendly' as we host the Ike Southward Memorial Trophy in 2024.

Full fixture list released 3rd December.

This is the structure, now we will get on with releasing season ticket offers, our super value 100 club offer and we are looking at home kit reveal is coming soon.

Get excited, get on board and get down to the Fibrus Community Stadium for what will be a very competitive division based on recruitment so far.

20 games is better than what we were looking at but ideally you’d still want more league fixtures  . 24 would be  playing each other three times . Four of those extra games would be home I guess
