The 15 000 tickets sold mark for last year`s Vegas venture occurred on October 19, the same mark was reached on August 3 this year, with continuing sales since.

Unlike last year Bays 304 - 308 have been put on sale.

In further good news there has been significant corporate box sales, with all Level 1 corporate lounges already sold-out.

As was remarked on the Australian forum, whilst the Vegas venture may not yet have had the success desired on the gambling side of things, it appears that it is becoming another ticket/ corporate sales Magic Round type premium event.

Is that the aim of the venture, to tap into the gambling market? I'd assumed it was to get a television deal

No initially all the talk was about cashing in on the booming American sports gambling market. I think there was some talk about then selling the viewing rights to the particular gambling company they struck an agreement with.

The problem that always struck me with this was time zones, however as V`;andys said repeatedly, even a very small percentage of the gambling market in the U.S. equates to tens of millions of dollars.

I`ve no doubt they haven`t given up on their original plan, and you`d have to think that if they can turn this initial event into an annual sell-out that is broadcast on prime-time Fox FTA then building the sports wagering side of the venture may still eventuate.

If they can get to the break-even point, then the sky's the limit and they could continue to build support indefinitely. This kind of continued promotion could lead anywhere.

That wouldn’t seem like a good option to the NSW and QLD fans who support their local States

Una tantum could work.

Went to vegas this year for the matches, stayed 6 nights and had a ball.  The stadium is amazing, fan zone night was great, the sphere is amazing…etc etc.  Going again next year.  I’d highly recommend it honestly regardless of who you support!

Same here, repeat visit but just 2 nights in Vegas and combining with a road trip as car hire and "gas" are inexpensive.

Nice one.

Hope his dream of fighting there comes true as well before he retires.

Going out to 10.6 million followers is a nice bit of publicity too

Is he an RL fan? Just wondering why he tweeted in the first place.
As a sport we should reach out to our well known fans to help promote the sport. Invite them to games, even get them in the Sky studio. I’d like to see Roy Keane as a studio guest for a Warrington vs Wigan/St Helens game

I know there's some family connection between McGregor and Pat Richards and they spent Christmas together.

I think these types of people are all about appearance fees unless they are absolutely going to the game of their own accord, rather than any specific invite. Unless I’m mistaken.

Would work very well if possible. Especially if on the BBC.

I would hazard a guess that is is more about the stadium.

He has been harbouring hopes for several years of fighting there.

I didn't know about the family connection to Pat Richards that Damien alludes to, and that is nice to hear.

I think people like Roy Keane, Micah Richards etc who are RL fans would attend if they were invited and available

Giving airtime to people who are not more knowledgeable on the sport than those watching it merely serves annoys fans of the game. You attract no new viewers from it while giving nothing of value to long-time fans tuning in. I usually reach for the mute button when gimmicks like that are employed by other sports.

Does it? I'm not sure it could annoy people less than the current selection of RL pundits who are supposed experts yet spout innane and incorrect nonsense.

Did you not see Josh Warrington at Magic this year?

That's fair. I'm not particularly familiar with the English pundits outside of reading about Eddie, Stevo, or Dave Woods.

You get some inanity in Australia too, but I like our pundits for the most part. Nonetheless they do crossovers occasionally and it's always banality worthy of the mute button.

The NRL pundits are way better. Few would dispute that.
