Route66 Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Kevin Rowland of Dexys still going strong at 70 performed well last night but a massive shame he couldn’t fit in ‘there there my dear’ got to give the people what they want to hear at Glastonbury and I still love the searching for the young soul rebels record. Paul Heaton however top marks, fantastic. Going to try and get myself out of my 75-85 music though and watch as much newer stuff as possible 4
gingerjon Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Saw the sets from Dua Lipa, Sugababes and Paul Heaton yesterday. Enjoyed them all. Will look for some of the stuff unknown to me later. 3 Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. (Terry Pratchett)
Gerrumonside ref Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Yes, always good to mix it up a bit old and new on the music side.
Shadow45 Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Aye, watched Paul Heaton and the Sugarbabes yesterday

Pretty sure (but not 100%) it was Hull FC he supported back in the 80's. I saw the band (Housemartins) in 1986, not as a band but elsewhere and Norman Cook aka Fatboy Slim, was wearing a Hull KR top. 1
RoyBoy295 Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Paul Heaton was superb, enjoyed his set and so did the crowd by the sounds of it.
GURNER Posted June 29, 2024 Posted June 29, 2024 Caught LCD sound system by chance, blown away. loved em. No idea how I have never known about them. Need to get out of this cave more 2 Caught by a feckin speed camera. try these I did and it saved me a heap o money and penalty points.

He did two nights in Hull a couple of years back. First night he came out to The Red Red Robin, second night he came out to Old Faithful. Fortunately, me and Old Frightful had tickets for the second. Really enjoyed his Glastonbury set and it was great to see Norman Cook (who looked almost in tears listening to Caravan of Love) join him for Happy Hour. 1 "I'm from a fishing family. EagleEyePie Posted June 30, 2024 Posted June 30, 2024 Can't say I've been a big fan of Paul Heaton but he's one of those artists where I didn't realise how many of his songs I'd actually heard and like. Really enjoyed his set. I thought Rianne Downey was really good alongside him. Never heard of her before but she's got a good 'country' voice. Last year there were a fair few artists I liked where I made a point to watch their sets live. This year there's only one band I'm actually interested in which is The National (probably my favourite band at the moment) and they are on last. I might have to look up some of the other artists but I feel like this years line up is a bit weak.

They found her because she did a video covering Rotterdam during lockdown. Build a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. EagleEyePie Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 Watched The National last night and they were outstanding. They seemed to draw a bigger crowd than the headliner on the Pyramid Stage. There must have been plenty of sad dads out there.

JonM Posted July 3, 2024 Posted July 3, 2024 Big red, green and blue 'Up the Wahs' flag in the crowd - first ever RL presence at Glastonbury? 1
