Wales have shown for a good few years now that you can still develop players and grow the game even with little money. The are the example to follow for Scotland and Ireland.

Perhaps Wales will start playing full international fixtures again?

Wales should have a full programme of Internationals. At the very least the should be playing a couple of mid season fixtures against France and maybe Ireland or even someone like Jamaica. Then at the end of the season a regular European tournament either minus England or including England Knights. A chance for countries like Wales and France to play against Fiji, PNG, the Cook Islands and Lebanon at least once between WCs should also be created

I agree. However what didn't help Wales in the past was the attitude of their 'star' players who thought they were actually too good to turn out for Wales.

Would it be too much of a stretch to think that in future years Wales could play France at Wrexham on a Saturday and England play their Southern Hemisphere visitors at Everton on the Sunday and create a mini weekend festival vibe with ticket deals for attending both games?

It was nice to see a good turnout of North Wales Crusaders fans at the game on Sunday to support one of our own, Ralf Roberts, who we have known since he was four years old and is young enough to call himself a lifelong fan.

It was a good game to watch, played to a very high standard. It's a shame it wasn't actually played in Wales, but Chester rugby club were great hosts as usual.

It's a bit of a trek to Neath, but if anyone is in the area or thereabouts on the 3rd August, if you can get to the game you won't be disappointed.

Yes. That makes no sense

Not questioning the validity of it making no sense but wondered why you thought not. Too few people interested? Distance? Disconnection between the two events? Other?

Better structure than a lot of SL teams 😂

Paul Berry effect right there. A brilliant coach who’s vision and professionalism has revolutionised not just the junior system in Wales but the community coaching beneath him - he’s forever passing on advice and tips.

And this is something that is hard to replace.  People like him are Gold.

This is an area where Wales have more potential than France. The French junior players don’t seem to have much in the way of pathways into SL whereas the Welsh players have all the English SL clubs, especially St Helens, Warrington, Salford to develop into SL players.
If a few players each year can become regular SL players with the addition of a few strong heritage players then they could become a potential opponent for England in the future

Two other lads from Bridgend have also signed scholarship forms at St Helens. Great stuff.

How many Welsh lads are now at SL clubs?

Off the top of my head I’m unsure but I’d say about 10-20 on scholarship contracts, another 3-6 in academies - that’s Wales born and developed only, obviously there’s heritage numbers on top of that.
