It will be close to a miracle for Dewsbury to beat Widnes (I’ll reserve the miracle for beating Wakefield), so expect another heavy defeat on Sunday.

Widnes 44-10 Dewsbury

FTS: Restall

MoM: Beckett

Att: 2186

Legs, Dews, Legs.

Sad to say that I will be one of the many absentees from this match. I would like to be optimistic about the outcome but expect it to be another defeat, despite a valiant rearguard effort.

Chemics 38 - 14 Rams

FTS: O'Connor

MoM: Butterworth

Att: 2450

So you think we'll score 14 points in the first half🤔

Cos we usually get nowt in the second half

Will it be another game we're winning at halftime🤔

Widnes 38 Dewsbury 10

If we're lucky🤔

Poor game (as per usual)

Poor attendance (£22 in)

Poor second half (one half team)

Poor beer (overpriced & flat)

Poor food (no decent pies)

Poor atmosphere (one stand open)

You might even be closer next when you are up for the double.

These 10-12 score lines week in week out for Dewbury.Nothing changes.Get shut of March. He's got Shawcross to look after. Something is very wrong with the whole set up.

Well here goes at my honest attempt to provide an honest live assessment of what I witnessed at Widnes today. Ok first of all a very very small gathering of Rams fans appropriately 30 tops. Well done to each and everyone of you. Our overall performance was same old and repeat same old. Failing to play the ball correctly, off loading and failing very early in the tackle count. Weak defensively on our left edge again. Expecting old boys to play second row on a pitch with loads of width. A decent initial 30 minute spell and fell away again. No bench of significant note. I could rant all night. But my overriding thought was that there is a reason why we have a grand total of 2 League points. Answer because Batley were garbage on the said evening. They will not make the same mistake next week!

Oh they'll be really up for putting the record straight next week, at all costs next week we have to play uphill first half, contain Batley and get at least some points on the board.

Second half coming down the slope will compensate us doing what we do.. Run out of fuel

If Batley win the toss they will go uphill first half and run us ragged in the second half, they will get momentum and we will quickly fade

Teams seem now to be targeting our second half decline

I think you have covered it all there Coolie, but I don’t think you should have aired your comments on here ‘cos now Batley fans will be telling Moxon and making him aware of all our faults!

I think Moxon will have the situation all wrapped up and a game plan in place to beat us

We shall see

I hope you'll be at Mount Pleasant on Sunday - I'm hoping for a better game than at your place, it's cheaper than Widnes, so I'm hoping than more than 30 Rams fans will make the journey over the valley. If you play downhill in the second half, you might do better. I usually drive to the game, so rarely sample the beer - but no complaints from me when I have had a pint! Food is excellent, but make sure you get there early. Atmosphere? usually pretty good against you lot...

And don't forget to bring your Great Uncle Blindside.

I sampled first hand Batleys hospitality at the Toulouse game

Supplied with pregames drinks (Coke)

Then the world's best steak pie I've ever had absolutely delicious, while we munched Kevin Nicholas was up working the room, with anecdotes and thanking all the sponsors, explayers and just about everybody in the room was made to feel welcome and part of the overall matchday experience.

I questioned Danny Maun on where the pies were from, well I got Bennett Butchers, so I went to Morley in pursuit of these little beauties, to find Morley don't stock them, and can be bought from Bentleys at Pudsea.

Closed on Monday so I'll be venturing over when I get time 😉

For once in his life Keith Conyers deliverd👏👏👏👏👏👏

And I will not disclose how many pies we had between us 🤣

But it was more than Harrison Hansen's Mum & Dad did🤣🤣🤣🤣

The same 18 get chosen every week, with absentees for injury or suspension. There is no competition for places as the players available clearly aren't any better, or they would get a chance. Those who turn out every week are good lads and willing but not good enough for this league and probably looking towards the respite of the season's end as much as the dwindling group of fans are.

In the past I have been a reasonably regular attendee at away games. This year I have only made a couple and can't see me going to any more, and that might even include Batley. I haven't given up on the team or the club but the rest of this season offers no temptation, sadly. We have seen plenty of poor seasons over the years (about 50 in my case) and some have been equally flat and dispiriting, yet there always seemed to be a hope of just one surprising result to encourage our loyalty. This year I can't see there being another one.

Still, there is always the sunny weather to keep me smiling.

For the first time in I can't remember when, I will choose not to make the short trip over the Valley on Sunday. Just like you BSJ not that I have completely given up but I can't bear to see the same story unfold again and again.

I wasn't going to go Bradford at home and changed my mind half an hour before ,the same with Doncaster (the latter actually proving to be slight just more enjoyable than others), only to be let down as usual and my hopes dashed once again. I doubt I will be a regular attendee at all the remaining home games now for this very reason and certainly won't be there for the Sheffield and Wakefield visits or any other away game for that matter.

You'd think might get tough to it over the years (40 for me) but in honesty its the hope that kills you and it certainly has been doing just that this season
