I deliberately sent mine to parking eye close to the cut off date, so they could not react and come up with some other bullshine......which they did but was after the date. I then informed the court not to accept their rejigged evidence as it arrived after the cut off date.

I assume the court told them it was inadmissable as they dropped the case soon after.

I got 61 pages. All bumpf (spl). Only 1 page was relevant but random. I have not owned the property since 2016. Yet they charged me 400 quid in 2023 for a service charge. I'm not going to tempt fate though. I think a lot of companies don't expect opposition to claims and make their money from the people that don't ask questions.

We’ve been given a telephone meditation appointment on the 31st of this month, where we will politely but firmly point out that we have now provided proof of payment on four occasions, we will ask that the case be dropped and state that we are willing and able to attend court to defend the claim

My only experience with this was years ago. I was sent a letter by a parking company saying I had stopped illegally on the road into Luton Airport. At that point I had never been to Luton Airport and I, and the car, had been in work that day and were on CCTV. At that time you were advised not to engage at all as they would use anything you said against you. The threats piled up from their tame solicitor but, as with many cases, they knew they'd lose in court and it would cost them way more than the charge. So they forgot about it. It didn't matter because 90% of people just paid up anyway.

They realised after a while that more and more people were ignoring them so they did finally take up and win a case and then used it as a precedent. This made ignoring more difficult. The government also changed the law to make it easier for them to pursue cases and allowed them to set up their own "appeals process". Guess what? The appeals process almost never finds in favour of the driver, whatever evidence is provided.

So we end up with situtations like Phil's, where they basically make life difficult for anyone to defend themselves even when they have no case.

Caught by a feckin speed camera. try these I did and it saved me a heap o money and penalty points.

The first interview I got during my (hopefully only) period of unemployment was one of those private car park operations. Let me just say I was relieved when they didn't call me back and I had to keep on trying to survive on Jobseeker's Allowance.

The parking company state a “glitch in their software allocated payment to another of their car parks” 

The mediator then pressed them to admit that payment had been made and it was their #### up.

they’ve dropped the case and offered us £250 for our inconvenience

My little situation update. The company chasing me for 5 figures. I gmgavd not had the property for 8 years plus yet they were still chasing me for service charges. Asked yet again proof for what I may own and dates. Sent me 28 pages of bumpf (spl) and one with date and charges. Trying to charge me another 400 quid between October and December. I responded and they are currently doing an internal investigation.

So where’s the £250 then? 
 

Mrs Phil called the mediation department and informed them the parking company hadn’t paid as instructed, they were not happy, they were seriously peed off.

They called us back a couple of hours later to say they’d upped the compensation to £350 😳and  called the parking company and that the parking company had paid them whilst their call was taking place!!

it will be in our bank on a couple of hours they said, and so it was 😎
