I've got to admit the club always manage to put a smile on my face first with a simplistic announcement of players one a day at teatime  and following all the hoo ha of rebuilding the Blue wall, new players and new partnerships to announce  re- signing of two current players all good news can't wait for the club to keep me smiling through 2025

From the sublime to the ridiculous after all the ballyhoo of re- building  the Blue wall and with all fans staying tuned in the coming days to listen to the club announcing some exciting signings up pops a charity calendar I just wonder how many of these exciting signings will appear  in their undies like Ben :kolobok_laugh1::kolobok_laugh1::kolobok_laugh1::kolobok_laugh1::kolobok_laugh1:

The two retentions are great news, but I agree, a bit underwhelming so far to be honest.

I'd have expected a signing announcement per day at least this week, assuming we've at least 5 to announce.

Well, I'm calm.

Our season ended four weeks ago. We've got 11 signed up, six pending and six departures from our squad at the end of the year.

It's obvious from various websites that we have numerous new players lined up.

Fixtures are out in 2-3 weeks, pre-season training will start, season tickets on sale, new kit launched. All in the build up to Xmas and the pre-season friendlies.

Our media output is not perfect, I think they're a long way from being over-staffed, but the job is obviously being done.

What's the problem again? 🤔

I'm calm. I'd just suggest that we need to learn to manage expectations across the fanbase, not indicate lots of "exciting news in the coming days" when one of them is nothing more than a calendar. Under promise, over deliver.

Yeah. Is that the modern way though?

I take what you're saying, but these days everything has to be bigged up on SM.

You simply can't announce 'here's a solid grafter who can do a job for us in 2025' or 'potential squad man/bench warmer trains on with Rovers'.

So to us, it all sounds a bit OTT? I think we'll just have to deal with it. Like garlic bread, it's the future.

I'd agree in the context you're saying. It's more the quantity to me, as I mentioned earlier I'd have expected a daily announcement or a signing this week leading up to season tickets being available. Everyone will have a view though, and I doubt anyone will be spot in with what actually happens.

The only thing that bugs me m is it's all over the press that we have won the race to sign Jordan Williams  the club must have seen this and know we know but don't acknowledge it

Yeah, I'm not going to disagree there. It could be a question of available staffing, but a daily update of some form would seem the best way to go at this crucial period of the year when folk will spend plenty of money on season tickets and club shop merchandise for Christmas presents.

Yes, I think that must be very frustrating for the club.

I honestly don't know, but perhaps the club has lined up a sequence of announcements to publicise players we've re-signed (Reynold, Aekins, and so on) and then announce the newbies.

Leaks elsewhere kind of wrecks that planning.

Photos of new players in Rovers new 2025 gear would seem an excellent thing to do IMO; but it takes time, planning and money to put together. Maybe the 2025 kit hasn't arrived, the player is on holiday, etc etc.

But that's something I'd like to see.

Yes. Of course I have no idea what's actually happening, and was just giving examples of how difficult it can be to coordinate marketing promotions and social media feeds on a small budget.

Tbh I'd prefer the club to do a kit launch as a stand-alone event, preferably when it's available to buy or pre-order and preferably well before Christmas.

But we've seen how a club like ours is a low priority for certain manufacturers, and delivery is often beyond the club's control.

Hopefully next season, Jones can revert to being an impact player, rather than doing big minutes each week.

He dose seem to play better off the bench, good player.

I think I'm in a minority that thought he was pretty underwhelming.  Most folk I speak to see something that I don't in Addy.

For somebody  you found underwhelming T Danny came second in  the forums seasons MOM awards so you are right to say most folk see something that you don't in Addy.:kolobok_laugh1:

Oh I know, I just don't see it in him.  The effort is generally there, but everyone goes on about what he creates, which seems to be very little.  I'll have to watch some games back on RoversTV.

Batley held firm however, until the very last tackle of the first half which saw Danny Addy put Brad Day over for a crucial  try

I had a dream last night that we announced the signing of a 6ft 3inch 19stone Tongan international front rower!! Quite worrying really, it must have been on my mind when I fell to sleep😂

If you go and watch the video on YouTube of all the tries we scored (it is quite lengthy) have a look at how many get made directly from addy or his ball playing through the middle, I also noticed when he was banned/injured we looked a lot less creative
