But it's not a flop if the tackle hasn't been completed.

Field had been taken to the ground and the ref had viewed the tackle as complete when Burgess then joined and stayed ontop looking around.

Smith kicked the ball and concedes a penalty at marker.

He doesn't seem the most unrufflable of characters.

Stupid thing for him to do. Symptomatic of our (Wigan's) poor discipline.

Half time score a fair reflection Michael Lewis showing Harold Smith how to do it

Looking forward to seeing it at HT but I thought he went to finish a moving Field.

Indeed, and I think the ref allowed him to do that. It was him then staying ontop looking around which is what earned him the yellow. Gildart was still in the "tackle" when the ref blew the penalty, but he was the one that effected the tackle.

If the ball carrier was sliding over the try line, you wouldn't even think of suggesting the tackle was complete. It wasn't. Burgess was not only entitled, but obligated to join the tackle.

I've only seen a Twitter clip though - is the suggestion that the sin-bin offense wasn't a flop, but a "lying-on"?

Who knocks the ball on by throwing it 10 foot in the air? That is comical. I’ve seen less obvious strips in Spearmint Rhinos

We don't wanna know what you do in your spare time mate.

The ref said in his explanation that "you flopped and then you laid ontop of him" (I cannot recall his exact words)

The flop alone wasn't what the yellow was for.

What is Smith thinking about there ... That is almost professional foul levels of unnecessary.

True, could easily have been a sin bin. Not much between these two sides though at the moment, Hull KR look stronger with a more structured game, Wigan looking dangerous on the counter.

Wigan definitely look more dangerous in broken play, don't really look as capable of breaking Rovers down in a set move.

They need to move the ball around, create more chances through offloads, etc.

Just saw the Burgess yellow again.

Never in a million years a sin-binning. He goes in to tackle, manages it beautifully, gets off before the other defender, and goes to get up. It was the other KR tackler who held on to ankles, as I think he is entitled to.

Really good defence from Burgess, unfairly penalised.

Not often that Lewis is the better of two goal kickers.

The pictures were pretty blurry on the Miski put-down and it wasn't easy to see whether the ball touched the post while he was gripping it.

I have no problem going with the on-field call of TRY there.
