Soon to be followed by bankruptcy and a RFL bailout.... dream on.

Whenever I...I'm...away from you...my alibi is telling people I don't care for you.

What's your favourite version? Dusty Springfield or David Cassidy?

Fortunately we are not giving it the big 'uns on being the next big thing.. at least not for the last year and this.

I mean you literally printed a t-shirt that said designation Super league and took the P out of every team after each victory (remember the Sheffield tweet)

No ones giving it the big uns! Usually just bitter opposition fans like yourself clinging on to that narrative for the last decade.

Would have been nice to get the win but in all honesty  a victory would have resulted in a fixture pile up and been detrimental to out main targets of winning 1895 Cup or the league.

If destination 'Super league' is decided by performance on the field, I am quite happy to be mocked on failure. We at Fev lost 2 MPG's then bottled it against London, quite happy for anyone to take the <<oops I tried to get around the swear filter and failed>> at our misfortune, and many did, including many 'Northern' fans.

As long as your team play on a postage stamp, rely on your inflated attendance figures and your 'bonus' for being a 'city'  to boost your IMG score don't expect that people will not mock you.

Your team are living on past glories, something that you will not achieve if you continue to inhabit the dump that is Odsal.

As I said, I can't believe that 38 people thought that Bradford would win, even if there are 20 Bradford fans who frequent this forum, and all 20 voted for Bradford to win, that means there are 18 forum members who, after watching Bradford get mullered by Toulouse, thought that Bradford would win. Totally unbelievable.

You come across as a very bitter person.

You're wrong 😄 - Bulls played Fev and Keighley before Leeds that year

Correct, and scraped past both of them by 1 and 2 points respectively.

It was Halifax that knocked out then-SL side London, who then knocked out Bradford 2 rounds later to make the semis.

Bradford achieved the highest attendance of the round in both the last 16 and the quarter finals too (the quarters being against Halifax, and that all-Championship game outdrew the other 3 all-SL games). Says a lot about the cup as a draw though.

I mean the club have done some stupid things in the past so I wouldn't put it past them - but what on earth did the leaflets say given both the competitors and venue were yet to be confirmed at the time of printing...?

IIRC, when the semis were double-headers, the venue was announced ahead of time to help ticket sales.

I liked the semis as double headers for that reason, although ticket sales remained fairly consistent with that of 2 single games.

Well I put this thread on to get (all but abbreviated) a match report, not a scooby of a chance it was all politics again which usually happens at the mere mention of Bradford, Halifax and Fev on the same thread, and latterly Salford are very much in the same equation.

Will now nip over to BBC RL to get the score at least.

Can't remember now. But it was something akin to them being in the semi final and preparing for it. 🤷🏻‍♂️ 😅

You should all take a look at yourselves. I wouldn’t want financial uncertainty on any RL fans. Having to learn the ins and outs of administration, the uncertainty, the lies, the broken promises, crazy. People who went with their grandparents to Wembley for 25 years straight, as a collective RL family from 60 different community clubs to watch (usually Wigan lol) and a n other club play in our showcase event . They’re cut from the same cloth (ahem) , as you.

Anyway, the game. As expected, Bradford, part time, with a recovery session on Monday and 1 training session on Wednesday gave it a good dig against a full time team with 3 full training sessions this week. First half both teams were even, then second half Salford pulled away. The ref started to change how the ruck was controlled in the second half and Salford adapted quicker. Bradford coughed up too much possession and invited too much pressure, which all told in the end.

Also, whilst Salford had their own issues with their bench and substitutions, it became obvious Bradford were really only a match for Salford when Donaldson and Lawrence were on the pitch. Who both had very good games.

Anyway, back to championship action, which is a very competitive league so far.

I dont know about that, Fax are finding it a bit easy.

I should be allowed to make a joke like that after last season. 🤣

Fair enough 🤣

There is a release when onfield stuff is working when there’s a little off field uncertainty.

Ah right - not to let details of what it actually said get in the way of a hilarious anecdote - but sounds like in all likelihood an RFL leaflet handed out by staff working at Bradford to both sets of fans rather than a leaflet saying "Bradford are definitely in the semi final". Like I say, I rarely defend the club these days as plenty to bag the club for - and I'm sure plenty of arrogance by a section of the fans beforehand but that seemed insane even by Odsal standards

I think the Red Devils are prioritizing the challenge cup over Super League in the hope that they can earn some much needed money from it.

They could be looking at a whole eight grand ...

Think it’ll be a bit more than that. There are not 6 rounds before the quarters. It’ll still be low but maybe not that low.

Indeed, I was more making the point that there are no riches in the Challenge Cup.

The money comes from the gates. Widnes will probably earn £40-£50K from that 7k crowd yesterday which is a decent amount for a championship budget.  That sold itself really, but do clubs put effort in getting a decent crowd for these games?
