the reasons we are down are due to a lot of factors , most we knew before the season began .  a load of forwards had been unavailable due to ops for the first 6 -12 games ,causing us to overload on forwards to cover the gaps , consequently we were always light on backs ..too small a squad  . no 100% assurance from wigan that the dr arrangement was still on ...but even with all that we still had players packing in because of lack of game time.........and this problem will still exist next year . without a reserve team or at least a joint reserve team with haven we will still find it hard to keep all the players happy . players need to play , its a short career , we need to find a way around this problem..........haven have gone overboard with dr and loanees to try and remain in the championship and good luck to them , but a few locals have become dissenchanted with not getting a starting place , and next year the same problems will come back to haunt them too....why should local players sign pro when they are not guaranteed game time ?

very true , I've heard local players saying they wouldn't sign for a club who uses DR .

the player talks and contracts etc will surely be under way just now as it is only 2 weeks until players go on their long awaited and deserved holidays ? in the local paper today PV is implying he will be at town and rebuilding next seasons squad .

I hope to God that isn't true! We need a complete clear out starting with Vievers and extending to others who have been "in with the bricks" for far too long. I would seriously question the wisdom of any investor who would accept a coach who scraped 6 wins out of 28 games and saddled us with a pair of duds who drained the kitty. If he's here next year we'll simply tread water like this season .

Must have missed the glorious Haven team winning their two matches and surviving.

Thus giving them a chance to dump all their star travellers and sign a team full of Town failures :ph34r:

He's trolling lads.

According to Haven fans they offered Rooney 20k a year which tempted him so he asked to see their business plan for the next three years, and guess what? They haven't got one so things are still up in the air. Money talks though so who knows.

If they stay up we may lose some players to them, but after tonight's meeting we might still be the more attractive club with a new BOD and a clear business plan to move forward.

The race is not always to the swift nor the battle to the strong, but thats the way to bet!

agree and I'm pretty sure the 8's would have gone much better if Matty , Stack , Brett Phillips , Brett Carter , Callum Phillips were all playing and fit .

Add Sammut to those 5 against Sheffield along with 3 or 4 carrying injuries who shouldn't have been on the field then 62.0 was the probable outcome. Imagine haven going to Dewsbury without Jessie Joe, Aye, Gore, Foster, Allan and the 4 or 5 loaners, how do you reckon they would have done ? Probably wouldn't have been able to field 13 !!!

Injuries are only part of the reason we are going down, but a massive part non the less, the players have put in some sub standard performances this season but have put their bodies on the line these past 6 games and we should all get down to DP on Sunday and show them our appreciation.

You must be 14 by now ? getting no wiser with age though, good to hear from you, it's been a while.

hopefully more go in to speak to haven because it seems to persuade them to stay at town. Has with shacks and karl anyhow.
