I, for one, welcome our new overlords ...

Sounds like a great bash. What was that old quote about the West car park at Twickenham?

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

That they were a great bunch of lads being sneered at by a metropolitan elite?

Move along, nothing sinister to see here.

"I am the avenging angel; I come with wings unfurled, I come with claws extended from halfway round the world. I am the God Almighty, I am the howling wind. I care not for your family; I care not for your kin. I come in search of terror, though terror is my own; I come in search of vengeance for crimes and crimes unknown. I care not for your children, I care not for your wives, I care not for your country, I care not for your lives." - (c) Jim Boyes - "The Avenging Angel"

Men of the people get together to plan their next move.

I thought you meant these 'Men of the People'-

"Richard Branson To Bankroll Secret Blairite Campaign."

Group include Former Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg and Labour MP Chuka Umunna  and celebrities such as Bob Geldof. The group also includes two other New Labour cabinet ministers, John Hutton and Douglas Alexander, as well as three Downing Street advisers to Mr Blair – Sally Morgan, Peter Hyman and Kate Garvey. It is backed by Sir Clive Cowdery, an insurance millionaire.

I think Bliar should spend more time on his role as a Middle East peace envoy rather than worry about Brexit. After all his envoy work has gone so well for him so far hasn't it ;)

Ooh, classic redirection.

I'd happily contribute to a thread titled "Branson and Blair - the people's champions?" but I'm not interested in it derailing a thread that shines a light on the true face of the Brexit leaders and backers. They are just the right wing elite rather than the liberal elite.

Ooh, classic redirection.

Do you not see the irony in having a man who took us into a war that the majority of the public didn't want us to be part of and without the consent of parliament now leading a campaign to go against the majority of the referendum voters and block parliament whilst being financially backed by a tax dodging exile !

Yes I do. And I see a world where if you want to talk about that, you start a different thread about it.

At least three people seem to have stumbled onto the wrong thread. I've notified the mods in case they wish to clear it up a bit.

Naw, not me. I'll inevitably be accused of some sort of bias.

It's not like you to be wrong ST:

54% in favour according to this in 2003 with only 38% against... oh, and it was also backed by Parliament:

Well 54% is a massive majority and gives an unquestionable mandate.

With the best, thats a good bit of PR, though I would say the Bedford team, theres, like, you know, 13 blokes who can get together at the weekend to have a game together, which doesnt point to expansion of the game. Point, yeah go on!

I stand corrected on the parliamentary vote, though didn't it come out later that Blair had already made up his mind to go to war anyway and had told Bush he would support him knowing that even if he lost the commons vote he could send in the troops anyway, as at that time the PM had sole powers on declaration of wars ?

I'm not interfering in his thread, other than to point out this is off topic.

Please start a new thread if you want to refight the Iraq war debate.

Meanwhile, this is what this thread is about:

Back on topic, or off to other threads if you don't want to discuss this.

Thanks.

The worrying thing is that the Barclay Brothers own the Telegraph, Richard Desmond the Express

and although not there personally Jonathan Harmsworth's editorial staff were. For those who don't

know this man of the people, he is the 4th Viscount Rothermere, majority shareholder (owner) of

the Daily Mail. Other than the Sun and the Times, these are the most read newspapers in England.

Control the media and you control what masses think, witness communist Russia and currently

China.

It is the biggest irony that the Murdoch family are fast becoming the bastions of the centralist media !
