Can we expect come 2025 a fully born Welsh team? some good boys coming through the system got 3 boys at Halifax and 1 at Hunslet all around the same age as Regan Grace and Morgan Knowles at St Helens . next couple of years are going to be exciting i hope.

So why should Welsh RL seek to sacrifice themselves on the altar of national purity? If you have a team that comes from Wales that's what the younger boys will aspire to. If Cardiff boys see boys from their hometown representing their country it gives them the belief that they can get there to. the pinnacle of all boys ambition is to represent your country if they think that every time a big tournament comes round we are going to parachute players in from elsewhere why are they going to bother. For Wales it isn't about winning the World Cup its about inspiring the next players to want to play Rugby League and the more who play the better we will get and then who knows.
burnleywelsh Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 Gil Dudson, Larne Patrick and Dan Fleming unavailable for personal reasons apparently. http://www.rlwc2017.com/news/wales-announce-24-man-squad-world-cup . Was hoping that Stevie Ward would put his hand up after being left out of the England squad.
DoubleD Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 Disappointing the amount of players that are out as they would have a strong 17 if all fit and present

Dudson has trained all year with the squad, I think he's been carrying a knock, and has chosen to get that sorted Patrick hasn't played for Cas for some time so could be an underlying issue there Dont know about Dan Fleming
East Coast Tiger Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 The story on the Toronto players is that they have newborn kids. Guyra Super Spuds website Guyra Super Spuds Facebook
JoneslessBishop Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Understandable for Toronto players. Spend every other month out of the UK, then come the off season, off for month to Oz and PNG, leaving a new baby at home. Try and swing that past the missus!

Gerrumonside ref Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Is Danny Ansell (a half back who has just joined Swinton from Hunslet) likely to start?

Kear's favourite combo is Olds and Davies. Ollie Olds is injured... so it'll be Courtney's Davies at 6 and then a battle between Ansell, Seamark and Ralph for 7. Id say as he knows him and his tactics, Ansell is fabourite
