just spent a couple of nights there at the weekend, ate at the Washington again- cant beat it for the price- always busy with locals- and drank at the ardwick pub where its fosters strongbow tetleys and john smiths all £1.60 a pint! again full of locals in the know, disturbing to see people on the streets smashed out of their heads on what was obviously that "spice" drug though.

So what did Bob get up to on his trip?

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Still a while to go.

My slightly snooty Danish girlfriend has a liking for black pudding (because she is decent) and mushy peas (more of a surprise), so it might be OK.

Snooty is a little unfair, but on the scale of things, she is well away from the chav end.

I wouldn't be paid to drink any of these. They all IMO taste like K9P.

Speaking as a 70 year old, did either you, or your wife, quite gratuitously, for no apparent reason, except you were in front of them in the cash machine queue, get called a C--t in Blackpool?

*Roy "Chubby" Brown perhaps?

It is a Greene King pub, so while not the best I expect there is ale.

Well I'm not going to argue, but in my experience, Wetherspoons takes some beating for all the above, plus they sell cask ales, which is always the decider to me.  How can you tell the difference between John Smiths smooth and Tetley's smooth? John Smiths has a green label. IMO it's the same stuff.  Muck.

the Washington is a different pub to the cheap beer one- it also sells real ales - I would say a step up from spoons - the 2 meals for 9.99 deal was amazing for choice, quality and quantity

I preach from the same hymn sheet as you when it comes to beer- smooth tetleys/smiths chuffing awful, I can do a pint or 2 of strongbow or fosters though- the days when we can walk in to pub and get merry on 6 pints of  farmers blonde for less than a tenner are beyond the revolution at the min though

Got to admit..... I found his attempts to draw a response very amusing....

His attempts were pitiful compared with some of the more educated stuff that flies across this forum?

I feel we can as a group feel proud of the way we failed to rise to the bait in such a spectacular manner

Some of the stuff on here is brilliant. Subtle nuances.... designed to draw a response.... some not so subtle but sit on the right side of the line....

His was so dire it was appalling. Ckn should have banned him for being one of the worst exponents of trolling seen on this forum.... so poor it was funny.

Like watching a bad bigoted comedian die on stage.

I don't envy anyone spending any time in Blackpool, it's a dump, full of drunken louts (both sexes)

Could be anywhere in England based on that description, though I won't mention any place in particular for fear of the usual responses on the subject of my hood!
