"But you said we were going to Blackpool not Rochdale!"

"But Dad why can't we watch a winning team like Oldham?"

"Why are we going back to Rochdale it's only 50 nil at half time?"

A hairnet will never keep us Roughyeds in place.

Great win for the Yeds over the Hairnets. Forwards bossed the opposition to win 24-8.

Hawkyard is quality always thought he was good when played against us and great to have him on board. Bowman looks like he can bring a different dimension with some good ball play and also powered through a one on one to score. Singling out a couple of the new boys but solid performance from all of the squad.

Their 2 tries came from kicks to the corner where their guy got a run on ours and got above.

Great start for us, but think the hairnets are in for a very tough season as don't look like a team from a division above.

Come on Oldham!

COME ON OLDHAM!!!! COME ON OLDHAM!!!!!

Never looked in danger today. Don't know if that is good for us or bad for Rochdale. Although they out scored us in the second half, did not think they caused us any problems when they had the ball. Hawkyard stood out and thoroughly deserved the MoM award. Was also impressed with a lot of our forwards and Bowman. In all a very good team performance.

Great result, played well and didn't get involved with some of Hornets dodgy tactics.

Well worth £14 for that! What a game from our boys, can't fault anyone, plenty of pride and passion, bit disappointed with Hornets efforts in the Derby as a Championship side. Couple of great Hornets fans we were talking to at the far end, great lads and true RL fans.

Onwards to Swinton now, I think this one will be a big test for us.

Worky fans across social media reckon they are the mutts nuts this season, hmmm let's see on the 17th Feb when they come to us. I fancy they might have a shock.

All looking good so far for the Yeds, Law Cup in the locker, one more outing against Championship Swinton, a weird friendly v Newcastle and then the league action begins... Can't wait.
