2blackrooks Posted February 29, 2024 Author Posted February 29, 2024 Strathmore were a great side but nothing since 2022, they had a really good youth program for RL but relied a lot on RU players, so sadly I think there no more On a positive note, the other weekend in Edinburgh, 60+ u16s u19s took part in a development day, great turn out and it’s hoped they get directed through club pathways. Small steps yeah but again a step forward 3 1
Wigan Riversider Posted February 29, 2024 Posted February 29, 2024 Went to the Chorley v Glasgow friendly. Apparently there are 6 teams in Scotland, 1 of which is in Aberdeen. Hope the game grows in Scotland.

2blackrooks Posted March 19, 2024 Author Posted March 19, 2024 Apparently Scotland are playing the Netherlands this year, great news for the Netherlands but as usual little or no news coming from the SRL Hope it’s true and I’m guessing the composition of the Scottish team will hopefully involve local lads

I’m not sure if they’ve played any matches since folding.
ATLANTISMAN Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 Sadly Scotland RL has always been on the back foot (Whatever happened to the youth development in Glasgow?) Let both Scotland and Ireland develop along amateur lines, Wales needs 100% support out of the 3 thats where we have a real chance. P 3

2blackrooks Posted May 2, 2024 Author Posted May 2, 2024 It will be because we really haven’t moved forward for years, but Forth Glasgow Edinburgh are pushing forward, and we’ve had more activity this year with the students, U16s,U19s and wheelchair RL than ever before Slow progress but its progress, keep the faith 2

stookie Posted June 25, 2024 Posted June 25, 2024 Out of curiosity, is it "Scotland A" because it is only domestic players, or is it the second Scotland 17 (ie including domestic players in the top 17)?
