Pied Bull is a decent boozer there.

They've done a great job with the High Street overall mate, Pied Bull is nice, craft beer pub facing it too called The Firkin has a lot of interesting beers.

£25 is clearly not the right price point.

You and I may be happy with that price, clearly the masses aren't.

Not even £25 its £29 including the ridiculous processing fee

I agree that some of the games are overpriced.

Not being negative but I wouldn't look over the back fence to watch some of these teams - never mind pay $50.

What was the thinking behind Doncaster as a venue?

They clearly put a good package together, and they've staged some decent RL events before, but 3 there and one in Sheffield seems a tough ask.

They also haven't been very generous in the fixtures they have given them.

Yes, particularly when for that fee some people are having to go to their local library to print tickets 🤣

It might be a Southern thing - I'd think nothing of dropping £100 on something I want to see. Cricket, Football, Boxing, RL, Theatre etc.

Does Leigh have a library - just not a train station?

I think that's a bit of a tone deaf comment tbh mate.

Did you go?

Went the games in Newcastle. But you can’t argue the crowds were good yesterday maybe they’ve got the prices wrong or the times.

Cumbria was originally selected, but when the stadium fell through again their games were sent to Newcastle.

They still could have played at any of Barrow, Whitehaven or Workington’s grounds though. Ok they’re a bit ramshackle but it would have guaranteed bigger and noisier attendances than those that will be rattling around at Doncaster or Boro.

£100 to watch England at Lords is different than France vs Greece in Doncaster. Im sure you wouldn't pay £100 for a seat in the eco power stadium.

When looking at this you have to factor in that we have already had guaranteed income from local councils etc outside of ticket sales. There was a bidding process which involved councils/local authorities paying hosting fees. So from a financial perspective the lower ticket sales has probably been mitigated.

I’m not prejudiced, I hate everybody equally

It's a fact - but I appreciate I am in a different boat to many. And I am well aware of that. Maybe why a few games down south might have helped.

Jim you seem to have an interest in these things, any predictions/feelings from yourself about what  sort of aggregate total we might get up to ?

Quite - 3 games at Donny where the game struggles anyway just seems a bit odd.

Different boat? Is it the QMII? 😉

I say library. It’s half a dozen books on one shelf in reality.

So a newsgents?

It's bigger than that - can't get it down the canals though - so not a lot of use in getting to games.

Should be fine for Qatar.

So, it would appear that financial gains from higher ticket prices over more full stadiums is the strategy? If so, I think the reputational damage of partly filled stadiums on national TV will have more of a negative impact unfortunately.

I’ve just bought 2 x tickets for Tonga vs Papua New Guinea.

Bit gutted I couldn’t choose seats exactly because there’s an issue with mobility.

They cost £55 each and not surprisingly 84 quid options still available!

Anyway looking forward to it now.

I have the same - taking a RU fan, who does like league, and he is bring a friend from Liverpool who doesn't follow RL.

Should be a great game.

Hopefully I don't need to watch most of this one on a screen.
