Degsy Strikes Again

It is obviously an unintentional error and mistake on Beaumont's part and I am certain he didn't mean to cause offence. The Steve Prescott charity has already accepted his apology and moved on and understood it for what it was.

Spot on.

Some things you can criticise people for, not this, I expect he is mortified and shouldn't be made to feel worse.

His message is a generous one really, just made a proper embarrassing c*ck up, maybe after some sherberts which to be fair he and Leigh had earned last night. No need to make the bloke feel worse

Apparently this site says I "won the day" here on 23rd Jan, 19th Jan, 9th Jan also 13th December, whatever any of that means. Anyway, 4 times in a few weeks? The forum must be going to the dogs - you people need to seriously up your game. Where's Dutoni when you need him?

If my newly-promoted club had just turned over the reigning champions, I'd be responding to congratulations without too many careful checks too. A gracious apology as well.

Exactly. I've criticised some of the stuff Beaumont has done during his time at Leigh but he shouldn't be hauled over the coals for a simple mistake like this.

There's a message on here from admin about abusive and intolerant posts, how about starting with what we say about RL Chairman? Just a thought.

Come on man, use a bit of common sense.  This is a mistake and one that he has both apologised for and I am sure he feels awful about.

Unlike your post which is designed to make him out as abusive and intolerant.

Tbf i read that as people shouldn’t be abusive towards chairmen?

You were right. Oxford has edited the post and it is crystal clear.

I shouldn't jump to the worst conclusions.

As an aside, the world would be a better place without Twitter, Im just astounded at the prominence that people place on it within their lives.

Social media may have it's trolls, mouth-breathers and knuckle-draggers, but it's been good for RL on the whole. News, updates, scores and much more that the national TV, radio and newspapers barely touch.

Let's be honest, he was replying at pace (or his PA was or an automataed system was) and not realising where the reply was going to is a danger of the internet.

I may have a go at Degsey now and again, but in this case he has responded well.

I am sure he is mortified by such a #### up.
