Is anyone going to watch the match in St Gaudens ? I'm hoping to be there as it's only 40mins up the road so if you want to meet up and have a beer I'm buying

No, but if you have the time / can be bothered to us know what it’s like afterwards @kiggyi’m sure a fair few in the forum would be pleased to hear about it.

Edit - including the attendance!

What England team is it? Academy players or community players?

The u17s go to England the 13th to 20 th July, two matches against England lions  at victoria park Warrington, one at 11am on a Saturday, no way to treat an international u17s game, they played in nice stadiums and a massive effort was made with marching bands and big crowds here on France,

I might be going to saint Gaudens but it's a 2h30/45 drive one way so not sure yet.

To be honest Barnyia France play the Community Lions  17's on this one and Victoria Park is a more than decent stadium for such a game.

Looking at the French squad am I right in thinking you might have a pup in this fight ?

Enzo griffier who will play in the halves or at full back. Romain tropis centre very strong both played France u17s last year.

Mateo Stefani also who has been in the toulouse squad a couple of times.

Does the inclusion of three Carpentras lads in the u-19 squad suggest that the fortunes of the game are set to improve there, Barnyia, or is that reading too much into a single fact?

They had a very good u17s last season,  worryingly it was 4 teams merged including players from Lyon, they've a very good U19s team this year due to the u17s moving up this season just gone. They lost in the semi final against xiii Catalan, the best result the elite 2 team had was a big win in the cup against baho when the team was made up of 9 or 10 U19s.

Carpentras are still struggling but have a very good generation in the juniors,

Are kids really travelling from Lyon to near Avignon to play under 17s RL?

Most  where already at the pole espoirs in salon de Provence so just had to make the trip on game day, yes the better players need to travel to play in better teams and get better coaching, they trained separately during the school holidays.
