24-25 final score...gutted 😞

Hard lines for Crusaders, sounds like they put a lot in to the game.

Plenty of injuries in the Oldham side but the signs are looking increasingly more worrying under Long so far. Very similar patterns throughout a lot of the games.

Absolutely gutted. Fair play to the lads today they put in a shift, but we should have shut the game down at 24-14. I have no idea of the penalty count in the second half but we let Oldham back in with a stream of soft penalties or mistakes.

We really should have won that - fair play to Oldham for pressing and pressing and forcing us to defend for what seemed like a very long second half.

And another game we lost in the last 15 minutes. Makes me wonder how fit we are. The Oldham 20 was a class act, caused us trouble throughout the game.

Really intriguing match for us at Cornwall this afternoon. We're going to have to keep our discipline as Cornwall seem to like to get at teams at home and there always seems to be a card or two.

If we can back up last week's performance it'd be massive for us to get a win.

Workmanlike  performance by keighley, never in any real danger but looked like they struggled to get out of 2nd gear, I think they’ll have completed sets at 50% all game. It’s telling that both Oldham and Keighley struggled this week.

Midlands were decent and well structured and played with a lot of spirit.

462 at the game, I’ll be surprised if 62 of them were from the Hurricanes.

I’m a big expansion fan but I’m not sure what the Midlands are doing, they play out of the soulless Don Valley Mk 2, no juniors, a team imported from the north, no development etc, it’s beyond laughable that there was a TotalRL piece on them being in superleague.

On the one hand, respect to Keighley Cougars fans for drinking the bar dry at the Alexander Stadium today. On the other, yes....the catering offering is still a huge disappointment. We don't have a home fixture until mid-August when Town are in town so something needs to improve as they'll presumably bring a few fans with them.

On the pitch, Hurricanes were unlucky with a few decisions and Keighley's drop goal tells you they were concerned with how close it was between the 2 teams. A good game with Hurricanes defending well again and driving well through the middle and dangerous on the left wing.

Looking forward to the game at Hunslet after the break next week.

Comfortable win for Cornwall in the end 30-6.

Dreadful result for Newcastle Thunder.

If the league table remains as it is - that is an unenviable record for Chris Thorman.

No reserves, but resilience, persistence and determination are omnipotent.

Bit harsh but, as I'm also a grumpy old man, I'll bite.

Cougars brought good numbers but not 400. You will have had the majority but then you have the history we don't. Oldham and Rochdale brought more.

We had a massive change in direction when Big Red took over the club and Mark Dunning was subsequently brought in as coach. Establishing a club that can support the development of juniors etc wlll therefore take some tme - the excellent work still carried out by Coventry Bears is lost to this club now. Will be good if the development work is replicated north of Birmingham to compliment the Bears' success but it will take time and the creation of a solid base first.

The TotalRL article was hilarious I thought - don't take things so seriously!

Thanks for coming today though mate.

I know the Cougars hate expansion clubs but that's very harsh. Hurricanes have got a competitive team now with a decent coaching set up and playing in a decent stadium. I'm not sure how you can expect much more. People in glass houses comes to mind where the Cougars are concerned.

We knew it would be a tough season given where we've started from. For what it's worth everyone is behind Chris and the squad but they will be disappointed with the score yesterday.
