Won’t be easy, even though Dewsbury are propping up the table but Imwould have thought we should be good enough to bring home the points, be interesting to see what Mash’s first team sheet looks like.

still, I’ll be there for my sins!

There won’t be any Franklin Pele or Charlie Severs this week for York Knights, Pele has a knee injury and Severs has done his shoulder and both are back at Hull FC. There were rumours that some other signings were in the pipeline we shall have to wait and see, hopefully some of our current squad who picked up injuries will be fit. We still need at least one big, mean forward though imo.

...... be good to see you all for the second time this season -- as always, whatever the result, there's a warm welcome to everyone in the Royal Suite after the game for the presentations, interviews etc

I could have sworn we had players called Antrobus, Edwards and Cunningham? They seemed to have disappeared off the face of the planet. Let’s hope they reappear soon.

Levi and antrobus are both mid July I believe Cunningham is an odd one because his back is affecting his hamstring. In other news Harris is back for this game

I wouldn't. Nikau has hardly played this season, and lets face it he hasn't set the world on fire. I'd send him on D/R to Newcastle for a couple of weeks to get match fit, then see how we go from there.

I'd go...

Sin bin

Ward,Jimmy, Cook, Joe

Harris, ata ( if Harris has to play which he probably will cos he's captain although I wouldn't pick him)

Ta'ai, Josh, Connor, Field, Bailey, tommo.

Pembo, Jack, Santi, Ronan

Any word on Gannon anyone?

Can Cook play centre? If so I'd agree with the above, but start Pembo instead of Harris.

Mash’s first Knights team:-
Dagger

Brown

Williams

Keinhorst

Ward

Harris

Hingano

Ta’ai

Jubb

Fitzsimmons

Field

Bailey

Thompson

 Bench

Teanby

Santi

Daley

Cook

Pity Pembo has been left out, I thought he had been outstanding when he has played, usually out of position but always give everything.

Mash will have been as pleased with the nil conceded as the forty points scored, I imagine. Excellent start for the new coach, and gives us a spring in our step, going to Fev next week.

Great first win for Mash ,but certainly going to be a step up next week against Featherstone.

Again we having to play players out of position when we have had 2 weeks to bring in someone in just shows how much depth we have in the centres and how many more players are we going to send back to Newcastle!

I may be wrong but I don’t think any York players featured for Newcastle today.

After this performance, against what is admittedly a struggling Dewsbury side, it does make you wonder why the same players wouldn’t / couldn’t do it for Hendo, after all Mash can only have had two training sessions with  them so couldn’t change that much.

Aren't these the same players that scored 30 points in 11 mins at swinton? Held their own against widnes, beat fax? So the idea mash has changed anything is ridiculous, we'll see if anything has changed next week.

Good defensive performance and Cook looked a more than decent player with some excellent distribution and pace - though we seem to have gone from a club with no halfbacks to one with too many. Ata looked a different class of player with ball in hand, but again he ended up wrapped in tape. Dewsbury hung in there and we still didn’t really punch many holes through the forwards, apart from Thompson’s great try towards the end. Still, a good win and nice to see us higher in the table

Which is exactly the point I was making.

My question is why get rid of Hendo if there wasn’t a problem ?
