There was some abuse of LH from the open terrace along the lines of not passing when he should of done but in most instances Halifax cover was there in numbers and it was probably the right option to take one for the team.  It's a shame how we all can get a bit silly in the heat of the moment but personal abuse is usually counter productive. IF it was a member of this forum then perhaps an apology is due and let's move on.

On a brighter note a fan from Warrington commented on Facebook that she was made to feel very welcome at The Mount.  That is nice and reminds me of a lady from Coventry who used to travel up here to games because she felt so welcome on the terraces.

Bill, I believe I have sufficiently explained the situation in question. I have spent about 3 years now as moderator of this site, having to hand out warnings to members on behavioural and language grounds, interceding between factions etc. I was sat yesterday with 3 of my grandchildren, 11, 8, 7 and a row in front of a ladies' party. Would I be f'ing and jeffing in that company? Did any of those ladies have to ask me to moderate my language? No. Anybody who actually knows me knows that in daily life I'm more likely to ask someone if they are acquainted with other words in the dictionary rather than join in the abuse. At no time did I verbally abuse any player, parent, partner or child. The bandwagon has been joined by a number of people on the say so of someone else, not on what they have personally seen or heard. Yes, I have enough to say on a number of topics but I believe what I say is said properly and not in any vulgar manner. The same I can say in all honestly covers this 'disagreement' of yesterday. Storm in a thimble.

Time to move on over this I think.. Phil moans (quite often fully justified imo) bu I don't think he's abusive and I can't imagine him ever being insulting to a player and even less to their family.

You might think so, but it obviously isn't to Luke!

It's not like he is posting on here on a regular basis, yet he feels strongly enough to post about this!

You have almost single handedly dismantled this forum with your constant moaning, whinging and general negativity, then you wonder why most of the regulars no longer use this forum!

Phil for christ sake give your head a wobble and think about the consequences of the sh1t3 you spout.

Head up Luke! The only players that don't make mistakes are the ones not doing, or trying anything.

I will make no further comment on this matter, in fact no more comment on the forum. I will however be keeping an eye on any comment on this topic which I consider may be libellous or defamatory.

Phil is entitled to have his say about any player who he pays good money to support most wk ends. He is a passionate supporter of Batley Bulldogs. I shout out on a regular basis about any given players game , good or bad, it's what we do. I would be really be shocked if any supporter can come on this forum,  and say they have never has a dig at a player, irrelevant who is sat around them. We all know Luke is good for Batley, even Phil....

Anyone got a shovel ?

I spotted this on the fax forum..

Re: Batley on Sunday. :
I must admit I didn't see that one coming at all. Batley are so tough to beat on their outrageous slope (which should be banned).

I can't see why there's a laughing emoji, of course it should be banned. It's a great quirk of our game, but not very professional.

I never went to Thrum Hall, but having done a little research i was surprised after reading the fax comments, that the ground was on a hill side with the pitch sloping sideways.

"In 1886, the Halifax club moved to Thrum Hall, which would be their home ground for the next 112 years
Thrum Hall was notable for its distinctive slope. As it was built on the side of a hill, the ground had a four yard slope from the main grandstand side to the outer wing. "

😂 luckily it was never banned for having the sideways slope.😂

It should have been banned for being so blooming cold!  Still, it was a characterful ground.

Careful, the pitch will be coming on here and putting a statement out.

Why should it be banned? Because it's different? Because it gives the home side an unfair advantage? So what if it's quirky. It's the same for both teams and it's up to the away team to find a way they can play on it. That's what home advantage is all about. It's still a rectangular piece of grass with goal posts at each end. What's the problem? I love to go to grounds that are a bit different to the norm. they're far more interesting and the rugby is usually more interesting too.

"Out of the way, son. Where's my medal?" Alex Murphy's immortal words as David Hobbs scores his 2nd try in the '83 Cup Final!

My point of view, that's all. Some folk have no problem with the size of the pitch at Bradford, i do. 🤷🏻‍♂️
