There's probably not much else to do on a Tuesday night in Neath so I hope they get a decent crowd in.

£7 for adults is cheap. Surely they could charge a bit more than that!

Neath RU charge £10.

If you want to see where Wales RL see themselves in the scheme of things.

Yes it does demonstrate that somewhat. Equating an international to the cost of a pint. Hope they get a good crowd and it gives them something to build on, does feel like they’ve undersold themselves somewhat here tho!

It’s hard to say if you’re not from Neath or the surrounding area and know the local sporting landscape, which you may be of course.

No I’m not from the area. But if Neath’s limit is £7 and even then you think they may only get 3k crowd then maybe it’s the wrong location! Anyway, like I said … really hope this is a success and they can start to play more regular internationals in future.  I do think they would be great opposition for France each year (a game France should win but that could be competitive and help improve Wales)

Would love Wales to have a bit of a resurgence.

I would too, but to be realistic rugby league is a minority sport that’s never had a foothold in Wales and this is an international against Jamaica which I doubt will attract Union fans either. That said, as you say it’s a step in the right direction, I just don’t think a big crowd can be expected this time.

Important to remember that Neath is WRL’s base now - junior finals, senior finals, east/west origin games, internationals across the ages.

A deal’s been struck for the short/medium-term so I think it’s wise to price low, see the demand for a midweek game and then amend appropriately for next autumn for ideally a weekend game.

A few talks have happened for things around the game with a lot of interest in ‘Jamaica’ as a unique or unusual opposition over traditional Irish, English, Scottish and other common European opponents (I’m talking all sports here)

I went to a celebration of the Windrush Generation's contribution to Port Talbot society, which was very moving.

There aren't that many families but I think it's worth trying to see if they have a group/community across the whole of Wales (and the South West), which could be contacted to let them know about it.

Would've been good to make it into a series. Maybe a game in Kingston.

Do many or even any of the Jamaican players come from Jamaica though? If not it would be taking two teams there from Europe which would be very costly, and maybe not generate much interest in Kingston.

I’ll pass this on mate. Regan Grace is a prime example of an NPT boy with Carribbean heritage via the Windrush.

I’d like to see more games involving the home nations and France, Jamaica maybe even Nigeria plus other European nations. The more the merrier for me

Nigeria? What sort of standard are they?

I'll be happy to see Wales senior mens team play a home game in Wales. I'd be happy to see them play anywhere. This will be their first game since exiting the RLWC2021 in November 2022...and we have two really important games coming up in France so a warm up game is a bonus. Wales need to be playing far more often
