Jumped into it and direct shoulder to head, red is the correct decision all day. Fair play to May trying to crack on though

I thought it was excellent refereeing, seeing that there was a head injury, despite not calling a penalty initially.

How's Makinson arguing about that one? Not only is he stood upright and not adjusting to the tackle, he jumps off the ground. It's not malicious in any way but it's incredibly clumsy.

I'm not sure why Makinson always seems to get this kind of comment when he commits his latest bit of foul play.

Yep his record of nasty play is right up there for a winger.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

I thought it was a good description of the tackle.  The only part that could be  contentious is that it wasn't malicious.  I take it from your reply that you think it was?

Ensuring the player was OK bought time for the VR to have a quick look.

I should have trimmed the post to highlight that bit. Yes - and it's not to say it's malicious, only he knows intent, but he does have form for these tackles and still people tend to create a narrative that he isn't that kind of player, or play down his foul play. He is one of the grubbiest wingers in SL.

I made the comment because I didn't think this incident was malicious. Nothing to do with his previous record. If he had a clean record it doesn't mean an incident couldn't be malicious (see Harry Smith against Leeds), and a poor record doesn't mean every incident must be malicious.

Really interesting league table this year. Great battle at the top and around those playoff spots.

 Bog off.

It doesn't, but I'm not sure a tackle with the shoulder direct to the head with both feet off the ground was deserving of any credit. But, that's just my opinion on this. It was a bad tackle imo.

Tbf there's a gripping battle for 11th too, he should have mentioned that.

We’re doing our absolute best to lose that.

Not sure how it could be described as “gripping “…

In his defence (and I don't defend a Saints player lightly) his feet came off the ground after the initial contact, the arms are outstretched trying to wrap.

That's why I don't think he set out to cause injury. I thought it was really poor technique.

Whoops.

Hull are OK this week, double over Wigan and Leigh beat London.

Have you had any quotes mate?

A billion to one sounds appropriate.

Never say never Rob, you were expecting the worse v Wigan at your place, lightning can strike twice.

And on the other thing we have discussed, it is fine now.
