That is never a high shot in a million years.

Yeah, it does seem a bit harsh. He was trying to get to the ball and Moylan just dipped into his arm.

I can understand it, but I'm not keen on it.

Yes of course you can justify the penalty, but in the real world they’re challenging for the ball and some tiny contact happens. I want refs, especially video refs with time, to make better contextual assessments than this

Pretty close to our best performance of the season. Leigh have been brilliant recently, 9 out of 10 matches, and with a really great attacking shift on the edges. But Rovers defence was elite level.

Defence wins comps. We have the best defence in the league. Wigan needed to play against 12 men to beat us, so roll on to the Grand Final and let’s see if they can beat 13 of us.

What a time to be alive! 🔴⚪🔴

Very well done HKR. Even if Ipape had been playing, i doubt the score line would have changed much.

Too many errors, poor kicking game and zero pressure applied to Lewis which is really disappointing.  Leigh need to give their all for one huge game next week against Saints who no doubt will have a huge axe to grind for sure.

Moylan need to go back to 6 in my opinion as he rarely jumps for attacking kicks, but the season still in Leighs hands.

As for HKR, definitely the quality as a team to go all the way without having the X Factor of Wigan for whom to me are the only team that can stop them.

Good luck.

Well played Hull KR and what a tactician Mr Peter's is, he must have recognised how Matt Moylan is suspect - no not got the heart under the high short ball with attacking players advancing on him - and Willie played the short up'n unders from the beginning, this is not the first time that Moylan has shown his frailties in this dept and obviously Willie exploited it, if a numpty like me can see that what is Adrian Lam looking at, he is playing a guy with 6 on his back at 1 and a guy with 1 on his back at 6, yes Moylan is good linking up, but when the other team is exploiting a weakness change it round, poor thinking from Adrian Lam not to do so.

Leigh were 2nd best in every aspect of the game tonight, not that they played all that bad but KR's defence was superb, good luck to them in the play offs.

No complaints on the result, beaten by a much better team who laid our weaknesses bare.

Slightly confused by some of the comments on the Minchella tackle though, looked a shocker in the ground and having seen a replay it doesn’t look any better. Certainly doesn’t pull out or go for the ball and it’s a pretty reckless swinging arm.

Fair play to KR. They found a weakness in the first half and exploited it ruthlessly. That plus their defence meant that Leigh were never in with a chance, and it does highlight a gulf in class between the top 2 or 3 and the rest. I’ll be very surprised if it isn’t a Wigan v HKR final.

Leigh looked like they could compete on tackles 1-5, but were miles behind KR on last tackle plays in both attack and defence.

Well I didn't see it has the shocker you claim it to be Rob, Minchella is anticipating that Moylan catches that ball and is going to tackle him, the fact that Moylan drops the ball and stops down changes the whole concept of the action, this is done at high speed and the human body simply can't react that quick it is not performed in these bloody slow motion replays that are getting players castigated these days for foul play, and fans are getting drawn in by it all.

Shocking 'tackle' that should result in a long ban.

I think he was trying to make himself big as he approached the ball and Moylan and got himself going a bit clumsily in different directions with his limbs.

I will certainly agree that it doesn't look great, but I agree with Harry that the drop from Moylan completely changes the coming together in a small space of time.

I hope that this isn't the sort of thing that the game is going to hand out bans for. Moylan has caused it by coming up with the spill IMO.

If someone has got the ball, you're within your rights to commit to a tackle and if the ball carrier drops down at the last instant that should be taken into account as mitigation.

But if someone hasn't yet taken possession, like Moylan, defenders need to be much more careful and shouldn't be throwing themselves at the man on an assumption about what will happen. It's dangerous and that looks a very dangerous tackle by Minchella.

I can confirm 30+ less sales for Scotland vs Italy at Workington, after this afternoons test purchase for the Tonga match, £7.50 is extremely reasonable, however a £2.50 'delivery' fee for a walk in purchase is beyond taking the mickey, good luck with that, it's cheaper on the telly.

Had to listen on the radio as I was overseas but it seemed like Rovers defended really well and took opportunities when they arose against a tough team.

I'm convinced, if this level of discipline and defence can be maintained, that Rovers will reach the GF and will have a decent chance of winning.

Very well played to KR .We were second in  every department last night. Moylan was exposed & Lams kicking was very  suspect.I think Peters has done his homework well and executed  his plans perfectly.

Need to pick ourselves up for next week.

On the yellow card...

This isn't necessarily my view, but the view the disciplinary committee might be taking:

Ball carrier would always be in a vulnerable position coming down, with no guarantee how how they'd land. Tackler had time to make decision on force of tackle and chose strong impact. Risk is associated with strong impact should ball carrier lose height.

Basically, he didn't need to go in for a shot (the player was unlikely to go anywhere from where he was positioned), and whenever you do go for a shot there is always risk of it going wrong and that's on the tackler.

Think yellow is definitely fair. Red would be excessive due to mitigating factors.

To give the penalty to Rovers too (eventually in the correct position) was good officiating I thought.

On the game itself...

Rovers were very very good. I thought Leigh had strong plays at the, played with speed and strength, and Rovers just shut them down every time. Leigh's execution was poor, likely due to Rovers' defence.

In attack, Rovers are very quick to take advantage of mistakes. I don't think they'll have that many opportunities in the playoffs as they did tonight, but they'll certainly find them. Leigh had some nightmare moments defensively.
