I made this for anyone that might find it useful. All club fixtures as we currently know them. I'll update and share again when the Valks know who's in their Challenge Cup group. ⚔️🪽

Bit of team news......

According to Richard de la Riviere at womensrl.com (reliable) Megan Pakulis is with the Valkyrie again for 2025 😀

Tara Moxon from the Rhinos has left Leeds and is training with York. We've also nicked the Leeds U19 skipper Tilly-Jae Brown (who's a Prop, and made her senior debut in 2023)

Going in the opposite direction, there's a rumour that Remi Wilton could move to Wigan, who are in need of a hooker, with Rease Casey out with a long-term injury. With the expected return of Sinead Peach to the playing roster, Remi would be behind Sinead and Georgie Dagger for the position if she stayed.

With senior squads limited to only 25 in the WSL for 2025, there's going to be some serious competition for squad numbers at York. I'm guessing that Evie Sexton and Izzy Brennan (both only 17!) will both be pushing for a squad shirt.

Your 'at a glance' 2025 Knights & Valkyrie 2025 updated fixture list.

*Hull KR is obviously only if we beat Keighley the week before, and the opening two Valkyrie cup games are TBC.

Yes, there's a piece in today's League Express about it, Fran Copley too.

I think the fight for a squad shirt is really tough at the Valkyrie this season. RFL have put a top limit of only 25 on WSL squads (don't TBH understand how this will work)

With Tara Moxon moving across from Leeds (PNG international, plays wing and centre) and with Chev Clark due soon to be miving up from U19s at York, I think Eva's game time would have been limited, and she could well get a starting spot at Huddersfield.

Somewhat taken aback this evening,

As ever, pre-season I have purchased my copy of the RL Bible, the Yearbook.

How can anyone seriously appraise the Valkyrie's 2024 season without mentioning the input and influence of Megan Pakulis?

Agree George, Lacy Owen in particular.  In fairness, the majority of those were fringe players, and it was no secret that Carrie was retiring.  though all made massive contributions when they did play. But, the game moves on, and Lindsay has brought in new players in an attempt to make the squad stronger. Add to that we should have Sinead, Tara Jane, Liv Gale and Emma Kershaw back as well, so my guess is we will be okay.

Very disappointed about Lacey Owen. A real whole-hearted player, always punches above her weight and on the fringe of the England squad. I wonder if she is retiring at a ridiculously early age, has other irons in the fire or is frustrated that she hasn't made the England squad.

Not sure that these are (in total) massive losses, as these were either players who didn't play at all last year (Daisy, Ellie) or very few times. Carrie Roberts we knew was retiring, like the earlier announcement of Remi Wilton moving to Wigan.

The real loss is Lacey Owen - she must have been close to being POM in last year's Grand Final.

Against that, we have signed an interesting new Aussie half-back and probably Barrow's best player from last year (who can also play HB). We also have two new forwards in Izzy Bibby and Jazz Rampton, who already have some interesting background to their young careers.

Add those to three of the brightest young talents in the English game from our U19s moving up (Izzy Brennan, Evie Sexton and Chev Clark) - the squad still looks pretty deep.

Tara Moxon has also joined the Valks from Leeds (almost forgot!)

There is a story on the General Forum stating Lacey Owen may be signing for the Leeds Rhinos. I know she hadn't re-signed for the Valkyrie, but I'll be surprised if that proves to be correct.as  at the time, it was said she would not be playing this coming season.
