Another performance where we give the referee no reason to penalise us, like last Sunday, will do for me.

I agree,  just hope there aren't any players wanting to carry on from where we left off last week, that being said it was all push and shove. I would expect a couple of changes for Fax so we can't take them lightly even though the scoreline did flatter them somewhat. I don't know what the forecast is but if it is fine and the pitch is dry we should see some good rugby hopefully. Levi is looking good, and if Hingano and Harris are on song anything could happen. Discipline is the key, about the only time Fax got in our half was through errors and penalties last Sunday.

Has Levi requested the best Touch Judges in the game for this one too?

Kieran Buchanan had that last weekend. His foot was on the line for his try - I’d need television footage to be convinced otherwise. It was right in front of us.

In professional sport you get those wins and losses. Part and parcel of the job - but not sure touch judges in this sport are at the required level.

The main point however, is I’d never seen Levi play before Amsterdam - what a player he’s looking. Think he’s immense - yes the error against Toulouse but he’s an absolute breath of fresh air. All class that lad isn’t he?

Hoping Buchanan- who had his best 30 minutes on Sunday in our jersey (in my opinion) kicks on. Seeing signs but underwhelmed thus far. Am I wrong to think that?

Just to be clear - not bagging the lad - would just like the views of others.

I'm quite happy with Kieran Buchanan. We're only a few games into the new season, a couple of those saw pretty poor all round team performances and then he's asked to fill in as a winger last weekend. To me he looks a solid player and hopefully once things start to settle down a bit with injuries, he'll move back into a preferred position and we'll see him in his best light.

Regarding Levi...To me, yes he's always looked quick and exciting moving over the grass...but he does also look a bit prone to a simple handling error or two (I'm not alluding to the last few moments of the Toulouse game - that could have happened to anyone at such a pressurised stage of a tight game). I seem to remember a game back when Levi first came to the club - before he got his bad injury. He broke clean through a defensive line...Coasting and with a clear run of 50m or so to the try line, unchallenged, he simply threw the ball into touch in front of the main stand. When he's running with the ball under his arm, to me he still gives off those butter finger vibes a little bit...

In reality though, I'm just delighted for Levi that he's managed to get back playing - and get back into the team. I do agree that (with a decent run of games, injury free) his confidence will soar and he will become a real handful to any opposition we face.

You’re right of course about it being early in the season.

Time will tell and certainly hope he builds. Interesting to see how it unfolds when we have out and out wingers and utility backs available with Kieran, Law and Levi also available - or is that just a utopian concept given the brutal nature of the game?

We usually stay in York for this fixture but may be travelling by car on Sunday. Does anyone on here know if it is free to park at Monks Cross park and ride? There seems to be differing opinions. 👍

I am pretty sure far end of Park and Ride is free for fans on match days.

taken from York Stadium Management Company web site:-

York RLFC provide free parking on a match day, which is still located in the Park & Ride.

If you are coming off the main Malton Road roundabout towards the stadium, take the first left at the next smaller roundabout. That is the Park and Ride car park - it has the height restriction barrier but yes, it is free (and has plenty of spaces). There is usually a bit of a procession to get out after the game but wont take more than 5 or 10 mins to get away. All of the other shopping car parks have time limits on them unless you validate a ticket in store I think.

I’d rather start with 13 players 😉

No Mitch Clark?

… had to be involved if fit for me. I liked because I saw Santi starting.

Bailey has to play for me - ahead of either of the second rowers mentioned. I like Harvey and wouldn’t be worried if he was involved again.

Quick question - is BJB more of a winger or full back? I thought he was more of a winger. I wouldn’t want another ‘experiment’ at FB?

BJB is a winger but has played at full back , thought he was the best option of who was available, keep forgetting about Clark he should be in my list at 10, I think it must be my age!

Definitely a winger, mainly right wing if I remember correctly, but I don't think you could call it an "experiment" if he were to play fullback as I think he's played there quite a few times in his long career too.

He'll have to start at full back for me if Dagger isn't fit, can't play potter again at full back otherwise Halifax will target him all game with the high kicks,do think he needs to go to a club in league one and get game time in his rightful position.

Sadly I think you are probably right, it wouldn’t do the kid any favours putting him in that position again.

So thats O'Neill, Hudson, Ward, Harrison and Gannon all out with hammy tweaks then. That's rough!

I don’t recall, years ago , when we trained and played on proper grass, players getting acl, hamstring etc injuries like they do now, fair enough the game wasn’t as fast and the players maybe not so athletic, but I do wonder. The forwards did get broken noses, cauliflower ears and more than the odd tooth knocked out though.
