Predictions for the future -

Crusaders RL to get a franchise for 2012 onwards -WRONG

Widnes Vikings also to get a franchise - RIGHT

Crusaders RL to do the double over Widnes and finish five places ahead of them -WRONG

Widnes Vikings NOT to dominate rugby league in years to come! STILL TO COME

I promise to pay 10 to the charity of Bomb Jacks choice if Widnes Millionaires finish above the battling underdogs Crusaders RL. I OWE A TENNER!

Bit of fight from the irish, cliche but if they cut out the sloppy errors would be a bit closer.

Wales in again, great score from the no.7, 38-8

Just got in - brilliant win by the boys, stuck it to the Irish all game long. Think we'll be even better with an extra 3 years maturity and some useful friendlies over the intervening years. Could just do with a bit more grunt up front, but a great all-round effort :)

...oh, and my prediction of having no voice left by 6p.m. came true much earlier ;)

Can’t help but agree with all of this.

The Irish forwards seemed to have more power but we handled that very well and were a lot more disciplined which payed off.

Spoke to Wales RL chairman during the week about plans for 2019 should we win - he was hoping for 2 home friendlies to continue to build the brand and crowds.

vs England (Wrexham)

vs France (Cardiff)

Thatd be perfect for me. Ideally I’d like 3/4 fixtures but 2 is what he said was realistic

How about a 3-match series against France for a suitably-named trophy?  Might that catch the imagination of the Welsh public?

Fully agree, a very pleasant afternoon at the Racecourse. Only slight niggle would be about discipline, concede a lot of unnecessary penalties in the first 20 minutes like we saw today against a better side and we'd probably end up on the wrong end of a good mullering but I'll trust John Kear to sort that out over the next coming on for three years.

I have to say I didn't expect that scoreline. The local team played with enthusiasm and purpose. Less penalties would help but the way modern players are trying to milk them in the tackle you really have to dominate in the tackle to minimise that problem.

It takes wisdom to know when a discussion has run its course.

It takes reasonableness to end that discussion.

Was okay crowd from tv. Main stand where media was packed i could see rest of ground fairy empty.

BBC commentator claimed the crowd was 1,250 not bad for a Sunday with England on as well.

Had it been on Saturday I imagine it would’ve been more 1,500-2,000

Could be a couple of nice away trips for any Irish fan - pick from Valencia, Moscow, Italy and one of Oslo or Athens.

Or Leigh.

I was only joking, but LSV has been used as a neutral venue for WC qualification hasn't it? Didn't Russia play there a couple of years ago?
