Uninteresting Trivial Facts

I'm bored silly.

New client STILL hasn't found me a desk for the time I'm here. This is the third day that I'm on the meeting area sofas on wifi.

I have nothing to do as the right people aren't in until Monday and I have no access to the right technical resources. They insist that I be here though so I'm sitting here, playing on t'interweb and ensuring my invoice is prepared for sending tomorrow.

The ethics of billing time while posting on here were swayed massively by the simple application of them insisting that I'm needed onsite.

Esperaza Market had it's usual fine collection of strange people today:

A dissolute French chap sporting a Stoke City shirt;

A smartly turned out man wearing new jeans, dress shoes, sports jacket, and a Dead Kennedys t shirt;

A man dressed as a cathar monk;

A young English bloke with an Oi neck tattoo;

Tely Pelo fresh from the TO game last night

I don't sell much but don't half enjoy myself people watching.

My current client's email system has been down all morning meaning I can't get any work done as all the things I need are stuck in the system.

Ah well, time to sit back and play on t'interweb.

All eight cores on my Macbook Pro's CPU are reporting over 90C. The fan sounds like a jet turbine trying to keep up with the heat :)

I'm afraid it's been another long and pretty miserable Tramadol night here outside Jalalabad. :sad:

After taking one tablet at 23:00 and watching Dexter until well after midnight, I finally drifted off until 02:08, by which time the pain was becoming too bad to sleep through. I can't say that I have noticed any positive painkilling effects whatsoever from the Tramadol and I found myself forced to get dressed and go for a wander. By 02;30 I found myself in the Cardiovascular gym, pedalling away on the hand cycle, trying to sort out my neck and left shoulder. After 10 minutes, it was no better and possibly worse, so I opted for watching a war movie on the TV, whilst gently walking on the treadmill, swinging my arms in an exaggerated manner all the while. Trying anything to keep moving really.

Afterwards I popped into the DFAC to enjoy a mug of tea and some toast, watching Australia bowl out Sri Lanka in a 20/20 match whilst the muslim Terps ate and drank themselves silly in advance of the day's fasting, Eventually, I found myself sitting in the garden under the Jacaranda, Pomegranate and Fig trees listening once again to the Muezzin beyond the wire making his call to prayer, as the darkness gradually abated. By 04:15 I was back in bed and I managed to sleep until a little after 06:00 after which I had to get up again in order to check over the generators and try to keep the pain away by keeping as mobile as possible.

It's becoming both tiring and tiresome this trapped nerve thing.

It's that time of year again. Today sunrise (5:53) was after I woke (5:50). At least sunset is still after I get home (19:30) but this will change early next month. Within a month, it'll be full dark when I wake and when I get home. (Linky to data)

Little Ginger starts Year 1 in just under 2 weeks.

I start my third job in 9 months on Tuesday.

I have proper man flu and am missing my first day at work in a good few years. Been in bed since Sunday morning and still can barely move. I've been up since 4am because every time I fall asleep I cough and feel like I'm going to rip out my lungs.

I blame it on the small asian lady sitting next to me on the tube on Friday afternoon coughing and spluttering away. Yet another reason why I hate the tube.

So... I'm feeling decidedly sorry for myself and am bloody annoyed that I have wasted a bank holiday weekend being sick.
